Usually, it was not Kaneda who initiated things.
It wasn't Kaneda that suggested that they maybe play doubles more often. Not Kaneda who pushed him possesively into a wall, ravaging his mouth. Not Kaneda ordering the other to relax as his hand slipped into their pants. No, that was Akazawa.
So when it was Kaneda slid onto Akazawa's lap of his on volition, it was needless to say that it was a surprise. Then, leaning forward, Kaneda answered the question that was clearly written on the other's face with a soft kiss and a near whisper of three little words, "I love you".
And as Kaneda received a grunt in response and felt himself being pulled in for another kiss, he knew his feelings were reciprocated.
