"Just Desert" by Kailie Mauro
One day, Julia Andrews was walking out to her garden to pick a pumpkin for her pie. "Well, isn't that odd!?" she said as she glanced over as a glowing pumpkin caught her eye. As she walked through the garden, no pumpkin seemed to amaze her, besides the glowing pumpkin. "Well, I guess I'll pick you," she said.
She picked the pumpkin, went inside, and headed straight to the kitchen to bake her famous pumpkin pie for tonight's party. She went around the kitchen to do stuff. First, she put on her apron and then she got flour, sugar, a mixing bowl, a rolling pin, milk, and a knife. She sat the ingredients and utensils on the table, grabbed the pumpkin and sat it on the table, reached for her knife and started to begin cutting it. As she lowered the knife, the pumpkin started glowing brighter and brighter the closer she got. Her eyes got bigger with fear; she began getting scared.
She cut into the pumpkin, the glow stopped, she resumed cutting. She mixed the flour, sugar and milk in a bowl to make the dough. She put it all together, popped it in the over. A growling noise came from kitchen. She walked into the kitchen, to see the oven shaking. She opened the over, and it was what seemed to be an evil marking carved in the pie. She knew from that point on, the pie would be, just desert!
