He ran as far as he could to escape from it, but he didn't run far enough. They still know who he is, they always knew. From the moment he was taken away from his people they knew who he was. Before he was Estel, Elrond's adopted human son, and now he's Aragorn the man who is next in line to be king of Gondor. What life was simple is now difficult. Partly because he ran off in frustration, but also the tasks Elrond had set him to do.

To leave Imladris for an unknown period of time. Yes, part of him wanted to leave, but on a predictable trip from which he would return. His brothers would be his brothers and not a pair of guards to keep him from harm. Another is Arwen. He had grown fond of her, in his time spent in Imladris. She had returned home when he was 20, and he thought she was the most beautiful woman of all time. He had grown up on the tale of Beren and Luthien, so he is familar to the sacrifices on both kinds. For her to marry him would mean such a short time with him as king, and to say goodbye forever to her family. She would never see her mother again, but where would that leave him? Could he ever love another as much as Arwen and not have to sacrifice so much for his and her family.

All this was going through his head as he ran, but one thought stopped him short. Where could he go? If he didn't forgive Elrond, Elladan, and Elrohir how could he even go back and act like everything is normal? Elrond would probably want him to leave as possible given the time of his lifetime and goals. Why else would he be told especially now?

He turned back and thankfully knew exactly where he was. He usually ran off in the same direction everytime and also stopped around this area. He didn't pass the border. The orcs have been growing stronger and faster these past few months and going a few miles out would mean trouble than it'd be worth especially without any sort of defense. He started trudging back the way he came, now more mad at himself for getting so worked up about the whole thing. He arrived just in time for dinner and before his brothers decided to go out and search for him. They welcomed him back with open arms, fully understanding his reaction to the news. He told them his thoughts about leaving Imladris for an unknown period of time. He did not mention Arwen though, they would discuss the matter privately without their father and brothers present.
