Title: Dealing with Dean Winchester

Summary: Bobby runs through a list of how to deal with Dean. Because Castiel, despite all his holiness, is confused on the Winchester's rules. Set Season Five.

Characters: Castiel, Bobby Singer

Note: Having Bobby and his boys feelings at the moment. Cas really is one of his boys in the end, and he's gotta learn to deal with his adopted brothers. Asking their surrogate father's advice is a great idea, and he's got a thing to tell Bobby, too. Hope you like and please review!

"It's mostly simple, Cas," Bobby Singer states, eyeing the angel standing in the doorway of the kitchen.

Castiel shrugs a little and walks into the room, looking around before settling his unnerving gaze on the retired hunter, sitting in his chair at the table.

"I don't understand how I can help Dean when he says he doesn't want my help," Cas clarifies, putting his previous question in a more simple way.

Bobby sighs, and nods toward a chair at the table. "Well, take a seat." Slowly, the angel pulls out the chair opposite the hunter and carefully seats himself down.

Looking up, he waits expectantly.

"Listen, the rules are pretty simple." Bobby pauses to make sure he's got Cas' attention before continuing.

The angel's piercing and curious gaze doesn't waver, so Bobby clears his throat and starts to speak.

"First, don't try to obvious look after him. He don't take well to that. Second, don't get anything for him if he ain't asked."

Cas nods thoughtfully and waits for the hunter to continue.

"If he's hurt then watch him but keep away, especially if Sam's there. If Sam isn't there, then call him as soon as you can, and tell him exactly what happened and how Dean is. Dean will bitch at ya for that, but it's important."

The angel nods again. Bobby continues with his expert advice, having spent years with the young stubborn hunter.

"If he's down and out, first make sure he's safe. Try to wake him up but if you can't, then call Sam, and if Sam's don't answer or he isn't there, then call me. If Sam is there, he might call me anyway. And, goes without saying, but don't get in the way of those two lookin' after each other."

Bobby fixes Castiel with a steely look. "If in doubt at all, bring them here. I'll look after them, whatever they say."

Cas nods again at that, with a slight smile. The old hunter narrows his eyes.

"What you smirkin' at?" he growls, on guard.

The angel smiles properly this time. "Well, really, you are the Winchester's true guardian."

Bobby blinks, but before he can think to yell at Cas for such a clear admission, he's gone, vanished, that damn angel.

"Stupid boys," Bobby mutters, thinking how Cas really is now one his surrogate sons.

He shakes his head fondly. Really, he doesn't know how he deserves to have the best three boys in the world as his family.

Bobby shrugs to himself. Winchester luck, he supposes.
