Darkness surrounded him, he was in pain, blood dripping from his wrists where the chains that held him to the wall, grinded against his skin. He was too weak to move, loss of blood and his hunger were driving him to insanity, he was imagining things, terrible things. He struggled with the chains, he was wondering how he got here, he was wondering what he did to deserve this. He looked around desperately looking for anything that could help him escape. His search was in vain, for it was pitch black.

From the darkness ahead a door opened, and from the doorway emerged a silhouette encased in light. The figure moved toward him, with quick strides, almost as if he was floating. The figure reached to his side reaching for something , he unsheathed a sword, slowly, grasping in his hand, quickly moving toward the captive.

"Traitor" the figure muttered, he was an arms length away from the captive now. He raised his arm with the sword and with one sudden movement the figure stabbed the captive though his heart.

The captive screamed in pain. He looked where the metal pierced his chest, and a look of terror formed on his face. Blood was pouring from the wound and the captive felt his eyes getting heavier. He closed them one last time.

Ash awoke with a start, sweat dripping from his forehead. He looked at his wrists and sighed. The dreams were getting worse, and worst of all they seemed more real with each passing night.

Ash turned to his left and looked at the dying embers of his once great fire, as the cold night air swirled around him, he shivered, wanting to fall back to sleep. Ash looked at his lap and saw his best friend, Pikachu, sleeping soundly, not even stirring from his distress.

Ash lay back on his pillow knowing that he would not be sleeping anymore tonight, he curled himself up tighter as he tried to keep warm.

The forest around Ash was eerily quiet; he lay in a clearing in the middle of a dense forest full of deciduous trees. Occasionally he heard the sound of nearby Hoothoot, and Noctowl.

All Ash could think about was the dream, what did it mean, was it a vision, only time could tell.

Ash lay still as the moon shone bright above his head.
