Prompt: Cordelia wakes up to Misty painting a picture of her.
Light streams through the open window and falls on Cordelia's pale skin, illuminating it in the early morning sun. Her lover sits cross legged on the floor in front of the bed they shared the night before. A sketch book lays open in Misty's lap and she leans over it, focused intensely. She's so caught up in the colors she's replicating on the page that she doesn't notice Cordelia's eyes fluttering open.
"Mist? What are you doing out of bed?"
With a sweet smile and blushing cheeks Misty looks up at the object of her affections. "You looked so beautiful Dee, I wanted to remember every detail. I don't have a camera so I decided to paint you."
Raising her eyebrows, Cordelia leans over the side of the bed. "Can I see it?"
"It's not finished yet. Don't move." The head mistress giggles lightly and returns to her original position. The corner of Misty's tongue sticks out as she concentrates on the curve of her lover's hips.
"Do you remember the first we made love Misty? We had been in the green house practicing potion when Sara came on the record player. You twirled me around in this beautiful, intimate dance and once the song ended you kissed me. We woke up completely intertwined and happy in the morning."
"Of course I remember; I'll never forget. I was in love with you way before that night though. From the very first moment we met I've been drawn to you Delia. You're the poet in my heart."
The two women gaze at each other lovingly as they each think about the memories triggered by Cordelia's words and Misty's lyrics.
"I could be happy with you for the rest of my life."
"Good, cause I aint planning on going anywhere."
Misty turns the finished painting so that she can see. The image of the headmistress is mesmerizing in its likeness but what really stands out are the dark purple words written in script across the top: Will You Marry Me?
FIN.
