Sleepless Dreamer
Poem
-Falling asleep,
Remembering that time
Has passed us by,-
I walked through the streets, once again unable to sleep. Why is it that way? I wondered to myself. Why is it that sleep eludes me? I asked myself. I didn't have the answers.
-Can you sleep?
Can you dream?
Is it so hard to believe?-
I walk and walk, not knowing where I'll stop. I ended up stopping as I neared the park. It's the park where I first met her. She was beautiful. I longed to see her. But now I only saw her in my dreams.
-We've given up hope,
We've given up our dreams,
Is this what you want?-
I am scared and afraid. It has been months since I saw her. Her long brown hair tied back by a ribbon. Her smiling face entered my mind. Beautiful, was what I thought then. Why am I here? I asked myself, but I already knew the answer. Even though my mind had given up hope, my heart hadn't.
-Sleep is not forthcoming-
My thoughts are stopped as someone takes the seat next to me. I would of told the person to go away, but then the person spoke.
"It has been a while, Kyo"
My eyes flew open as I turned toward her. There she was. It wasn't a dream. My eyes started to burn and I realized I was crying. She looked at me then and smiled. I smiled back.
"Tohru" I replied.
-Sleep is just an
Everlasting dream-
She looked at me smiling before hugging me. I smiled and hugged her back before giving her a kiss. It was gentle and sweet.
"I love you, Tohru" I said before I kissed her again.
She smiled, hugged me, while repeating the same words.
"I love you, too, Kyo"
I raised her head to look into her eyes. There shining in her eyes I saw an emotion that was reflected in my eyes. The emotion was love, true love.
