Lilly and I always used to be so close. People always thought we were twins.
I always looked up to Lily, we used to spend all our time together. My other friends complained
that there older sisters wouldn't let them do anything with eachother. Sara always complained
that her sister acted like she was 5 years older. I would always smile, Lily and I were as close
as if we were best friends... but then she turned 11. She had gotten this strange letter. I first
thought it was a joke. A school for Wizards? There were no such thing! But our parents seemed to
believe! This had to be a joke! Lily didn't say anything. She just stared at the letter.
"Lily? You don't believe this, do you? Lily?"
"Hogwarts... "
"Lily! This is probably a joke! Don't pay any attention to it!"
"But what if it is real?" Lily started to smile. "Imagine! Me, a witch! I could do anything!"
I gave a fake laugh. "That would be great Lily, just like a story."
I just decided that the whole thing was a joke... until the day we went to diagon alley.
That day confirmed my worst nightmare. Magic... it was real. That night I started to cry. Lily
was going to go to a school, that I might not be able to go to. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
Lily always stayed in touch with me. She always acted like I'd be attending the next year. When
she came home that summer it was worse. She talked about wonderful things, that I'd kill to be
able to do. I mean, how fun would it be to turn a peice of wood into chocolate!
Lily insisted my Hogwarts letter would come the next day, and then the next, and then the next,
until it was obvious that I wouldn't be attending.
The day Lily left to go back to Hogwarts was terrible. She tried to make me feel better.
"I'm really sorry... I'm sure they made a mistake. Maybe they got your age wro-"
"Just shut up, OK?"
"Petunia..."
"Go to your school! Just go away!"
After that I couldn't stand the thought of magic. I didn't like anything to do with it. Lily and
I just stopped our friendship. She tried to become a better sister, she wrote tons of letters. I
never answered any of them.
The worst day of my life was when I found out Lily died. My husband, thought I was upset because
we had to take care of her child. I wish I could have told her, that I was sorry. I read the
letter again. She died for Harry. It was his fault... that I could never tell her I'm sorry.
I hated the boy. What if he caused the same pain to Dudley? But I had to keep him... for Lily.
A/N I own absolutly nothing! Don't sue! Um... tell me what you think!
