He stopped and looked down at the lone adhesive strip sitting on the ground. A Bandaid. That was all he had ever wanted. To be able to feel what other people did. But he couldn't. It just wouldn't work no matter how hard he tried, his mother's blessing was turning into more of a curse then protection. Because although it shielded him on the outside there we're still unseen attacker's on the inside.
He stopped. Looking around he saw nothing, noone was there. They seemed to have dissapeared along with the ground, and the walls, and the sky.
It was black, this new place he seemed to be in. He didn't mind it here, it was quiet, soft and dark. Was this a dream? It sure seemed like it, but something kept telling him it wasn't. He didn't know why, he just...knew...
He took a step forward and the world seemed to morph around him just like his sand used to back in the solid world. He liked this feeling, it was as if he was like all the other kids. Playing with everyone else, carefree, innocent, accepted...
He stopped. And finally took a good long look at his surrounding's. It was an inky black world with no wall's and tint's of orange running here and there. They we're soft, like floating cotton balls. He reached out to grab one but stopped. He had always done this, stopping before anything bad could happen, stopping before he got to feel the consequences of his action's. Why? he wondered. It was just a harmless ball of light, why did he stop? why couldn't he just grab it without thinking? Was there something wrong with him? Why?
He was beginning to get angry.
Why cant I grab it? I'm sure the other kid's could, without thinking like this! Its just a ball of light! Why cant I grab it?!
He stopped. Maybe this is why...Maybe I should stop thinking about it. Maybe I should just try to get back to the normal world...back to all the sand...
He reached out and put his hand in a cup shape under the ball of light. Shakily he tried to grab the ball until finally his hand's wrapped around it. Suddenly he felt the world turn upside down as he landed back next to his swing at the playground. He was looking at the strange orange ball in his hand's. How'd this get here? He thought. Until...
"Gaara!" he quickly looked up at the sound of his name.
"Nice catch Gaara!" The Energetic blonde ninja shouted.
He looked down at the ball in his hands. "uh...y-yeah" he mumbled. But he was just...in the sand village...He thought looking down at the grass that should have been sand.
So...I'm not...there anymore, huh? He thought while a small smile grew across his face.
He Stood up and brushed himself off before proceeding to pelt the poor blonde ninja with the orange ball in his hands.
