One sentence. Four words. Uttered at the worst moment and under the worst circumstances possible. But it was all he could do.
"I'm so sorry, team."
They shouldn't really expect more. They were about to be, and I quote, "assimilated", and he was trapped and helpless at the mercy of a psychotic mechanical probe. Not much you can do when you're in that sort of position. Even smooth talker-Sprx hadn't managed to get much progress (This is when the Spova fans go crazy!).
But... What was he sorry for?
For watching them die? For not being there to help them? For being a robot and allowed a slightly longer life while they were turned into, and I quote once more in threatening tones, "scrap metal and organic fuel"? Or maybe for putting them through such worry and grief when he sacrificed himself to the Dark One? Perhaps a little farther back. Was he regretting the time when he had pushed them for an extra hour in training and the next day even Gibson slept in? Though I highly doubt that one... But nonetheless, no theory can go unconsidered when it comes to the mysteries of a robot monkey.
Heh, funny the things you say when you think you're going to see someone for the last time. Take a look at old Sparky... Sweaty palms and all! Oh yeah, there goes them frustrated Spova fans 'gain. Much better than not realising that you'll never see them again and then saying something pathetic and kicking yourself later when your brain functions properly. Much, much better than that.
Anyway let us get back onto the agenda, shall we?
What were you sorry for, dear Antauri? It will not surprise me if this logical question cannot be answered, as you so often say. But I shall ask no one in particular one more time...
What was Antauri sorry for? When he, second-in-command of the Super Robot Monkey Team Hyper Force (Go!), had already done so very much for his comrades, usually willingly and without showing fear of the enemy or fear for himself too. Gosh, he died for them.
What in the universe was he sorry for?
