According to Plan
Ronald Bilius Weasley was 23 when the war had gotten over. When he turned 24 his sister was marrying his best-friend and when he was 25 his sister was having her first child, his oldest brother was having his 4th child, his 2nd oldest brother was having his 3rd child and the twins were getting married. At the age of 32 Ronald, whom everyone called Ron, would wake up alone at night searching for another warm body on the other half of his bed and never find anything but cold covers. He never had been able to express how he felt very well, and everyone around him knew that very well.
Hermione Jane Granger was 24 when the war had gotten over. When she was 25 her best-friend was marrying her other bestfriend's younger sister and when she was 26 her best-friend was having his first child. At the age of 33 Hermione, whom everybody called Hermione, would wake up every morning hoping, just as she had for the last decade or so, that today might be the day her one-true-love finally confessed how he felt about her. Now, Hermione Granger had always been a very patient person, but when provoked she could be You-Know-Who-Was-Defeated's worst nightmare, and everyone including Ron knew that although nobody other than Ron had ever witnessed it being directed towards themselves.
Harry James Potter was 22 when he'd finally managed to kick Moldy-Voldy's arse off planet earth. When he was 23 he married his best-friend's younger sister and when he was 24 he's had his first child. At the age of 31, Harry, whom everybody other than his close friends called him the-boy-who-kicks-arse, was the father of three and was sick and tired of his two best-friends, and so he took it upon himself to lock the two in the broom-cupboard at his mother-in-law's house.
Hermione yelled and cursed at Harry as he sniggered off to the living room to cuddle on the sofa with his beautiful wife. 4 hours later, when Harry did open the door, he saw his best friends finally doing something everyone knew they should have done a long long time ago and he never let them live it down.
Now at ages 38, 39 and 37, Ronald Bilius Weasley is no longer alone, Hermione Jane Granger-Weasley is no longer frustrated, and Harry James Potter is no longer annoyed by his bestfriends making googly-eyes at each other and never doing anything about it. Everything went according to plan and Harry James Potter, the-boy-who-conquered-the-one-everyone-knows-was-defeated, finally made a plan he made himself work.
