Barney Stinston was never one for love. Other than Lily and Marshall, he didn't think anyone loved each other than those two did.
That all changed when Ted brought in his new girlfriend. Robin Scherbatsky. He remembered all the good times he had with her. When he was sick and he wanted her to stay with him.
"This is a low point for the Barnacle. I should be out playing laser tag, being awesome. Don't look at me, I'm hideous!" said Barney.
"Oh, come on. You look like a regular guy." Robin exclaimed.
"Exactly. I'm
a Ted. Look at me; I'm wearing elastic waistband fleece pants."
"But they're
comfy, right?"
Weakly
and ashamed, Barney said, "Yes..."
"Come on, you have to drink some soup." Robin encouraged him.
"To weak to hold bowl." Barney whispered weakly.
"Fine, I'll feed you."
Robin put the spoon with soup in his mouth. Barney spit in the bowl.
"Ouchy in my mouth! I want ice cream!" Barney yelled.
"No, you're not getting ice cream just because you're sick."
"I hate you!" Robin starts to stand up. "Don't leave me."
Then again, there were those times he didn't want Robin and Ted to marry.
"…And there at the bottom of my champagne glass, was an engagement ring."
"Anything to say to the happy bride and groom?" the wedding photographer asked.
"Don't...
get... married!"
Or those times he wanted them to break up.
"Okay guys, we have a decision to make." Robin announced.
"Yes, I think you two should break up." Barney said.
And the real reason he wanted Robin to stay, didn't want Ted and Robin to marry each other, and wanted Ted and Robin to break up, was because…Barney loved Robin. No, not love friendship, real, passionate love.
And this is why, now, Barney Stinston, is in bed with Robin Scherbatsky.
Because he loves her.
