A Happy New Year
Just a quick note, I don't own FMA and this is for New Years. I am excited because my dad comes home from sea in a few days and I am so happy cause this was supposed to be his last run. This is dedicated to all military families as well as civilian families who have loved ones gone for the holidays due to their work.
It was past Christmas in Amestris. Al knew that if Ed and Roy weren't going to make it for Christmas, then they definitely weren't making it for New Years. Roy, as Furher, had to go attend a special meeting held in the north to make a peace treaty between Amestris and Drachma. Ed was on a separate mission to go check out the lab of a rogue alchemist who was apparently causing destruction and terrorizing a neighboring town of Dezoar. Neither came home for Christmas so it was Al, Winry, the gang and Al's & Winry's kids, Isla (Pronounced eye-la) and Artsen, and Roy's & Ed's kids, Sabrina and Isaiah. Roy and Ed had gotten married a year ago on New Years and had adopted the two young ones a few weeks afterwards. Sabrina was the oldest at 5 and was very protective of Isaiah who was 3. For Isla and Artsen, Artsen and Isla were twins with Artsen being in the lead by 5 minutes, they were best friends and protective of each other, both at the age of 4.
"I guess they won't be arriving." Al sighed. Winry and the others sadly looked around the mansion of the Mustang-Elric's where the tree shown brightly and the TV was fixed on the giant tower of Central as the countdown was being filmed.
"It can't be helped Alphonse." Riza said with Havoc holding her waist.
"Yeah the Boss and Chief had important business and it's to be expected that they can't make it on time." Havoc replied.
"And as you can see here we are getting ready to start the countdown for the new year. The countdown will begin in a few moments." The TV announcer said.
Everyone gathered around the tv with the adults sitting on the couch and armchairs while the kids all gathered at the floor in front of the tv. During their scurry no one heard the two cars pull up in front of the house. Ed and Roy pulled up at about the same time and both kissed passionately before walking up to the door and unlocking it. They quietly entered and snuck in behind the door frame of the living room, watching their family and friends excitement at the countdown.
The countdown began and everyone started the countdown when it reached 10.
10 they shouted, and Ed and Roy slowly emerged from their hiding places to sneak up on the guests.

"HAPPY NEW YEAR!" Roy and Ed shouted from behind the couch.
"YOU MADE IT" Everyone cried out and ran to catch the two lovers in a bear hug.
Everyone started laughing and they all celebrated with cookies, cakes desserts and best of all, each other.
I felt like being sappy. I wish you all a safe New Years and a wonderful year.
