Hello, everypony. This is a new fanfic based off of Libre Of Souls Mode from Soulcalibur 6 but with the characters and settings from the MLP universe. Without further delays, the disclaimer needs to be on there and for those who haven't gone through the mode yet, it's technically a spoiler so you are warned.
The characters and setting of My Little Pony belongs to Hasbro and the scenario of Libre Of Souls from Soulcalibur 6 belongs to Namco.
Prologue: A Tale Of Two Swords and One Brave Soul
Somewhere in the land of Equestria, a ray of light from an Evil Seed reached as far as Canterlot piercing the once peaceful skies. Many of the denizens of Equestria were succumbed to the influence of the Evil Seed turning them into monsters known as the Malfested. The victims lost their sanity and who they are in turn making them suffer as they unknowingly destroy and kill innocents in their warpath. These terrors look like demons but had a resemblance of that of Nightmare and a Berserker thanks to the influence of magic and Soul Edge. The one responsible for this was the evil tyrant Tyerk, who bore the crest of a minotaur on his cape and wore something of a warlock similar to Ganondorf;s attire from Zelda. He wanted to "save" humanity from their own selves by doing such monstrosities such as taking the magic of unicorn and pegasi and in turn transformed them into the Malfested. This minotaur was also obsessed with the powers of the two swords being the golden sword, Soul Edge and the azure sword, Soul Calibur. Soul Edge was a powerful sword warriors sought after to make them the powerful fighter in the land of Equestria but it's ruler Celestia and her sister Luna knew all too well about the sword for it was evil and robs the wielder of his or her sanity and life force turning them evil. The azure sword Soul Calibur was the purifier and the spirit sword that counter acts Soul Edge putting balance to the world in the process. Twilight Sparkle, the Princess Of Friendship and the Element Of Magic studied the foreign swords and their powers before Tyerk's diabolical fateful day. Despite her and the other Elements efforts, it wasn't enough to put Tyerk out for good for the fragments of the two swords plus his magic were too powerful for them. Many lives were lost that day with the bodies of soldiers of Celestia and Luna's army, Crystal Empire guards were decimated by half and Yakistan's army were incapacitated by the Malfested and the devoted followers of Tyerk. But little did the insane and wicked being realize that a new warrior will be the bane of his existence real soon.
In the Everfree Forest, a young man not from this world woke up in a hut groggy as he was earlier sucked in by a portal. The man was a dinosaur like creature called a Gemosaurus Rex in which they are related to dragons but they cannot fly or breathe fire but they can eat gems and rocks. He had blue sckin with dark blue spines on his head stopping to the neck. His eyes were emerald color and his snout housed razor sharp teeth capable of crushing rocks, gems and bones for they eat timberwolves for breakfast. He had dark blue armor with a karate headband. His name was Combo Breaker, the main protagonist of our tale as he was greeted by a zebra in African-like garb and the alicorn princess Twilight Sparkle and her assistant dragon Spike who found him laying unconscious in the forest. The three were relieved that he's still alive. The G-Rex spoke up wearily to the trio as he stretched his arms. "Where am I? I'm not in America anymore and am I dead?", he wondered as the alicorn shook her head. "You're not dead but as for where you are now, you are in the land of Equestria. It's remarkable that another Gemosaurus Rex is here.", Twilight said as Spike puts in his two cents. "I thought G-Rexes were a lost tribe but we haven't seen him around at all. He said something about America.", the little dragon said as Twilight realized now that Combo was not from this world. The zebra Zecora walked up to the newcomer and asked him something.
AN: I'll do my best at rhyming for Zecora.
"Fellow traveler far and wide, who are you from the outside?", the sage zebra said as the G-Rex told her his name as the zebra told him his name. "I'm Twilight Sparkle, the Princess Of Friendship and the Element Of Magic and this is my friend Spike, my #1 assistant.", the alicorn said as the dragon walked up to the newcomer and shook claws with the dinosaur. "Nice to meet you, Combo. I hope we can have you feel welcome in Equestria.", the dragon said with a smile as the dinosaur nodded. "Sure thing, dude. I guess we can make the most of my visit.", Combo chimed as the trio agreed with his response but before they could say more, a group of Malfested surrounded the hut as the four saw the same monsters with blades stained with blood of the innocents slain. "Damn! I better make those assholes eat steel!", Combo thought as the others tried to figure out a plan as Spike took Zecora to safety while Twilight tried to fend them off with the magic she could conjure up. Combo narrowed his eyes at the monsters as he felt something on his back being a katana and a wakizashi with a flag thing on it. The dinosaur unsheathed his blade and charged at the horde of Malfested creatures. With several slashes on the creatures, the dinosaur clashed his sword with the Malfested's blades with Twilight in shock after she defeated two Malfested creatures and a Berserker. Combo impaled two attacking monsters in the chest killing them in the process followed by a Zig Zag kick to the chest of a Berserker knocking it to the ground. Twilight blasted her magic at the other monsters rushing at her as some were obliterated while others overwhelmed her. Combo saw this as he did the Death Hell Slash to a Berserker killing it to the ground with blood splattered onto the forest ground. "AAAAAAHHH!", Twilight screamed as the large Malfested and a Berserker pulled their weapons being axes to deliver a final blow to the alicorn as Zecora and Spike grew frightened until—
"Shiki soku zeku!", the dinosaur yelled as he grabbed the Berserker and threw it into the Malfested knocking their axes to the ground with the dinosaur stabbing the Berserker in the heart leaving it dead. The large Malfested growled and roared as it charged with its' ax ready to butcher the dinosaur. "Combo, watch out!", Twilight cried as The dinosaur pulled his katana back with a glowing aura as the creature was closing in on him. "Shuraaaaahhh!" "Hyaaaaaaah!", the dinosaur shrieked as he unleashed a powerful stab to the monster killing it as the slain monsters littered the forest signaling the battle over with for the time being. The dinosaur ran to Twilight to check on her as Spike and Zecora ran out the hut relieved that the alicorn was okay. Near a dead Berserker was a glowing rift shaped like an orb as Combo went up to it with the others following him. The dinosaur investigated the strange object and after checking it out did he absorb it inside him as the energy flowed within him. Twilight was amazed at this but she had to talk to him about the object. Zecora decided to tag along as the four left for the Castle Of Friendship.
At Twilight's castle, the dinosaur was about to come in but the alicorn stopped him. "You forgot to clean your sword after you sheathed it. Please clean it up before you enter. I'll help you this time but next time you clean off the blood and gore off it.", the alicorn said with disgust after looking at the dino's katana riddled with monster's blood and guts. She used her magic to clean up the blade while Spike snickered at Combo being scolded for not cleaning his sword. Zecora shook her head at the dragon's teasing as Combo facepalmed at the dragon's snickering as he entered the castle. Inside, Twilight pulled out a book and placed it on the table and opened it stopping at a page that had the glowing orbs Combo absorbed. The alicorn turned to Combo explaining what the thing was. "Combo, you remember when you approached the glowing orb of energy after we defeated the Malfested and the Berserker?", she asked as the dinosaur nodded. "Yeah. I unknowingly absorbed it when I got close to it. What the hell is that thing?", he said as Spike chimed. ""Yeah, Twi. What the hell—". Twilight narrowed her eyes at Spike and Combo for using colorful language as Zecora shook her head at the dino's antics as an anime vein appeared on Twilight's face. The alicorn cleared her throat and explained, "The item you came across is called an Astral Fissure. These are rifts from time and space originated as the powers of the land of Equestria and the Evil Seed. You see, those who come across these orbs will become the creatures we fought earlier called the Malfested in which the once individual loses their self to the darkness in body and mind.", Twilight said to the dino warrior as he cimed in. "so those things turned innocent people into mindless killing machines? Then why did I not turn apeshit crazy?", the dino said as the alicorn had no clue. "Honestly, I'm not sure why unless you somehow closed off one of the Astral Fissures and took it's power in the process. These things are linked to the Evil Seed and a tyrant Tyerk is bent on getting the Astral Fissures for unknown reasons but I have a hunch that if you absorb them, you could survive the Evil Seed's influence and harness it's power. The more you absorb, the lesser chance Tyerk has to find the Astral Fissures. If he gets his hands on them, it could be devastating to the world.", the alicorn said in worry as Spike puts an assuring claw on his friend. "Don't worry, Twi. As long as we got Combo on our side, we can have an upper hand at stopping Tyerk. We can also have Apple Jack, Rainbow Dash and the other Elements of Harmony assist us. It'll be easy.", the dragon said but Twilight had something on her mind. "But we just met Combo Breaker. We don't know his intentions and his origins. I'm not saying he's evil since he saved us from a horde of monsters but I just hope he stays on the right path. With the devastation of the massacre Tyerk caused, it just worries me.", Twilight said in a troubled feeling until Zecora pulled something out of her saddlebag that she thought of during Twilight and Combo's battle with the creatures in the forest. It was a scale similar to the one the symbol of the courts used as it had orange side and a blue side. Zecora puts this in the dinosaur's claws and spoke to the group. "The truth you wish to seek, this scale you shall peek.", the wise zebra said as the scale registered the dinosaur with Spike asking. "What is this scale doing glowing?", the dragon said as Twilight knew what the device does. "It's a Spirit Scale. It senses the individual's actions and determines where the scale goes. If the scale weighs on the orange flame, then it determines the indvidual's soul as corrupt and evil while the blue side recognizes Combo in this case as goodhearted. Right now, the scale is neutral. Therefore, it is up to him to choose his path to take being Evil or the side of Good.", the alicorn explained. "All I know is that the creatures and that Tyerk will regret messing with the innocent. If we do reach up to him, he's getting his ass beat!", Combo said with a smirk as Spike gave the dino a thumbs up or in his case, claws as Twilight glared at Combo's language. "Combo, watch your language. But at least you admit that you don't like innocent people suffering. But let us rest and tomorrow, we'll show you around town.", Twilight said with a smile but blushed a little as the dino pumped his fist in the air ready to fight for the land. After the four slept soundly in Twilight's castle, the dinosaur had a dream where it was a glowing place with orange skies. Combo was confused as he walked around exploring the area as the Spirit Scale glowed brightly when the hero stopped in front of two swords. The one on the left was the cursed golden sword Soul Edge while the right was Soul Calibur the righteous sword. The voice boomed with Combo startled as he fell on his butt. "Another soul intertwined with the two swords, which one will you cut your own path?", it asked as the warrior stared at the swords for a moment. After a few minutes of thinking, he made up his mind and chooses the azure path taking the Soul Calibur sword with him. Unknown to the other two in the castle, beside Combo's bed was his Spirit Scale given to him by Zecora as it glowed tipping it to the blue flames as the warrior did not succumb to the dark side. Zecora smiled at the scale as she knew now that Combo is possibly the chosen one that will free Equestria of Tyerk's cruelty.
Somewhere in a dark foreboding castle in a distant land, a minotaur with a cruel and dark aura had an evil sneer sensing Combo Breaker's presence. His devoted followers came back with terrible news for the already enraged tyrant. ""My lord, we apologize for the disturbance. We saw the newcomer fighting the Malfested with the alicorn and her friends. That blue dinosaur decimated our followers. He's stronger than we assumed. He's absorbed one of the Astral Fissures as we speak.", the mare spoke to the angry minotaur as he bellowed. "WHAAAAT?! That alicorn should be dead along with that blue bastard! He's absorbed one of the Astral Fissures and closed them off! He's supposed to be the chosen one to put Equestria back into balance but I'll be damned before that ever happens! Now I have more trash to take out along with that guard from the Crystal Empire married to his beloved! Make sure you get Sombra and Chrysalis on board with our plans to decimate the filth! You are dismissed!", the minotaur barked as the mare bowed and left. The minotaur laughed maniacally as his plan to rid Combo Breaker and his new friends for good as it echoed throughout the lair.
AN: There's the prologue of the story, everypony. I love the idea of making rgis stoy and Tyerk plays the role of Azwell who is the main villain of Libre Of Soul mode. I think Shining Armor can be like Groh in this story. Tell me what you think of the story in a review or PM. I can accept constructive criticism to make this story enjoyable for everypony. Also, if you have the game Soulcalibur 6, I recommend you play through Libre Of Soul to get a grasp of my inspiration for this fanfic. As always, Nincub out.
