Despite the fact that she took her pills, Laurie can't manage to fall asleep. After changing pajamas three times, splashing her face with cold water once, and opening the windows, she realizes that there's only one thing left to do.
That one thing would involve making her way to Annie's room, crawling into bed with her, and sleeping comfortably wrapped around the other girl like she does every single night. But tonight? Tonight she isn't "allowed" to do that.
The young couple fought earlier that day over Laurie's new group of friends and the blonde is far too stubborn to apologize in order to get out of the doghouse.
She knows it's her fault; she skipped out on a date with Annie to go to some party with Harley and Mya, both of whom got wasted and hooked up with random guys, leaving Laurie alone to face an angry Annie Brackett.
"Oh, fuck it." Laurie mutters, rolling ever-so gracefully out of bed and heading to the other girl's room.
She cracks the door open and sneaks in, hoping that her girlfriend will be fast asleep and not notice Laurie in her bed until morning.
But, as always, Laurie doesn't have the best of luck.
"What are you doing?" Annie hisses, just as Laurie is lifting up the covers and slipping one leg into the bed.
"Shit," the blonde mutters, "I, uh, couldn't sleep. And baby, I really am sorry about earlier. I should have gone out with you instead of going to that stupid party."
"You're just realizing this now?" Annie asks, her eyebrow raising as her anger slowly starts slipping away
Laurie's reply is a guilty smirk and a quick kiss to the other girl's cheek.
"Just get in the bed."
Laurie's smirk turns into a full-blown grin as she pulls back the covers and crawls under them, wasting no time in wrapping her arms around Annie and pressing another kiss to the side of her face.
"You know, I'm not tired either. Maybe we could do something to pass the time..." Annie whispers into Laurie's ear, pleased that trailing off with her sentence had the desired effect: shivers crawling up the other girl's spine.
The shorter girl giggles at Laurie's speechless-ness as she wiggles on top of the blonde, kissing her hard.
