Summary: It's the beginning of the year, and everyone has changed. Well, mostly. Join Lily in a rant-like humor piece. Marauder Era

A/N: Read and review? It is merely a coincidence that Siriusly Klutzy and I have posted a nail polish fic close to the same time! This one's been written for a while now. Hahaha…

Hilarious, Ashley, (and all of you reviewers/readers) isn't it?

It's the beginning of the year, and everyone has changed.

Marlene scrapped her artificial blonde hair and reverted to her natural brunette self. ("I'll have to throw out all my blonde shirts!")

Alice grew taller and traded her long, gorgeous, ebony hair for a short, sexy, stylish pixie cut.

Emma got her braces off (her parents are Muggle dentists. Anything with teeth has to be done the 'conventional' way)

I, growing tired of my glasses, got my eyes fixed magically.

See what I mean? CHANGES!

The Marauders, always the anomaly, have not changed. Indeed, they have all gotten haircuts, but in the same style as before.

Of course, James broke his glasses beyond magical repair, but he bought the same ones.

Peter attempted to go on a diet, but it was an attempt, just an attempt, and nothing more than that.

Yes. The Marauders have, indeed, stayed the same.

Except…Sirius looks different. What is it?

"Sirius?"

"What, Evans?"

"Are you wearing…nail polish?"

"It's clear! The witch selling it said nobody would notice but that it would enhance my appearance and give me shiny fingernails!"

His hand is, indeed, shiny.

A crowd of boys, eager to have what Sirius Black has with the girls, crowded around him before I can respond with a witty comment about him being gender-confused.

"Ooh…shiny!" they all say, grabbing quills and writing 'clear nail polish' on their shopping lists.

Book me a room in the Insanity Ward at St. Mungo's, but I predict that tomorrow morning at breakfast, all of the Gryffindor 'boys' will be the butt of many gender-confused jokes…most of them, of course, being mine.
