1. Introduction.
Their meeting could be compared to many things. A garden of pristine roses in bloom; the moon's pull on the ocean, swooning the sparkling waves. A cold bloodless kiss, like death; the first snowstorm of an empty winter. So beautiful and hateful and completely unforgiving.
The tempting voice of immortality that beckoned the younger boy; seduction at its finest- something truly evil.
The boy's shudder was not one of fear however; it was because the was cold, the one thing that his mind was sure of at the moment. The chill was surprisingly pleasant, relief from the tickling flames that had destroyed everything he had once been sure of.
The warmth that he felt, that he never could detect as love, smothered by something even brighter; the walls of trust that he had just begun to build. It was gone.
Ciel was suddenly very afraid.
Not of the demon before him, but rather of the simple truth:
Once something is truly lost, you can never get it back.
With that, Ciel knew that it was time to grow up. He simply could not go forward as a broken child to be toyed with. He was Ciel Phantomhive, son of Vincent, after all.
When the lovely darkness gave him one last chance, the young boy excepted without faltering. As the fire had consumed his past, the need for revenge consumed his future.
There really was no returning, Ciel was sure as the lustrous raven swallowed him into its wings and took flight.
