My parents looked at each other uncertainly. This was getting ridiculous. They had called me down from my room with "important news" and now they had nothing to say. What's up with that? We sat in silence for another moment till I couldn't take it.
"What is it that you were going to tell me?" I snapped. Another look was passed between the two of them.
"Well…" My dad began, "We are moving to England."
"Oh guys I am going to miss you so much! Who am I staying with? Am I staying with Lindsay? Have you talked to her parents already? When are you leaving?" I questioned.
My parents exchanged another look. But this time it wasn't a look of uncertainty, it was a look of disbelief.
"Didn't you hear what your dad just said?" My mom asked.
"Well of course I did, and I said I was going to miss you guys."
"We are all." My dad said while motioning at us, "Moving to England and that's final."
My dad stood and left the room my mom in tow. Finally it sunk in.
"WHAT!" I yelled.
I was moving to England with no say at all. This could not be real. It had to be joke. I was certain of it. And I was still certain of it as my parents told me to begin packing a week later. But I began to get less certain when our things were being picked up by moving vans. And even less certain when I said goodbye to my friend Lindsay and got to a car that wasn't going to return. Then all my hope died when we got on the plane. The realization sunk in completely that this was no joke.
"I'M MOVING TO FRICKEN ENGLAND!" I yelled on the plane as it took off, earning me some rude looks. But I ignored them, because my life was about to be turned upside down.
I had given my parents the silent treatment on the whole ride to our new home. I wasn't mad at the fact that they moved it was the fact that my parents refused to give me a reason to why we moved. So until they told me I was going to be keeping silent. I slammed the car door as I stepped into the warm air. I fixed my 'Mad Hatter' t-shirt and I walked inside the house.
Ok so even though I refused to admit it this house was awesome. I looked around in awe. My mom walked in to see me staring.
"You don't have to unpack now if you want right now. There is a park down the street. You can feel free to go check it out."
She walked into the kitchen and I took my leave and made my way to the park.
