Hey Sophie here. This is something i wrote for a story I've been slowly developing on my own but I'm not sure if I'm going to post it. This account was looking a little sad in the story department so I took a small section of it to post and see if people like it. Anyway something you may or may not need to know to read this is:

Her breathing was loud and heavy as her feet pounded against the schools tile flooring, propelling her forward. Carrying her away from the Alpha's hulking black figure, whose own bounding steps thundered in close pursuit. Rae forcefully shoved the high schools heavy blue doors open and founded herself in a densely wooded area of the Beacon Hills Preserve. She continued running, the sound of her heartbeat in her ears drowning out the noise of the Alpha tearing through the woods behind her. She stumbled on a thick root and felt her heart skip a beat. The previously steady burning in her legs was fading into a numbness that caused her to be unsteady in her steps. Every time a foot met the ground she felt like she would face plant in the dirt. Her left knee gave out and Raelyn tumbled towards the ground, her arm braced protectively in front of her face, eyes tightly shut. Her forearms made contact with the ground first and after a pain filled second of sliding they were followed by her torso and legs. Her body skidded across the rocks and sharp sticks that covered the forest floor. She knew her arms were in bad shape the second she rolled over, but that quickly became the least of her problems when she saw the Alpha stalking towards her. Rae quickly sat up and shuffled back at a speed she didn't know she was capable of, only stopping when her back collided with a tree successfully knocking the wind out of her. She struggled to regain her breathing and the Alpha crouched down on all fours his menacing red eyes boring into hers. She could feel his hot breath on her cheeks. The Alpha dragged one sharp claw down the right side of her face. It left a dark red line of blood in its wake. He then rested his claws on her waist and her breathing quickened. His claws plunged deep into her sides, extracting a pained gasp from Raelyn, before rearing back his head and heading towards her throat with his sharp teeth.
Raelyn shot up in her bed gasping with a barely contained shriek. Thick clumps of hair had fallen from the bun atop her head and her cheeks flushed and streaked with tears. She was clutching her dark comforter tightly to her chest while she struggled the regain control her breathing.
"Just a dream, it was just a dream." She muttered quietly to herself, the mantra continued until her hands no longer shook and she felt steady enough to stand. Rae stood up and wrapped a thick blanket around her shoulders before quietly padding to the kitchen. She made herself a small mug of hot chocolate and curled up on the couch with a well worn book hoping to calm down enough to be able to fall back asleep. Next thing Raelyn knew she was being shook awake for school by her dad.
