Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me.
Is there anyone at home?
Come on, now,
I hear you're feeling down.
Well I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again.
Relax.
I'll need some information first.
Just the basic facts.
Can you show me where it hurts?
I feel the cold metal razor against my bare skin. I smile knowing that this pain I feel will soon be over. I know you'll be better off without me here. I know that you love her more than I, the one you used to call 'baby'. I know now that was a lie. A big fucking lie! I now know that you never loved me and you never will.
.
The blood pours out of my veins slowly. I feel nothing. I am numb.
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons.
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain you would not understand
This is not how I am.
I have become comfortably numb.
Before I die here on this cold, hard bathroom floor, I try to think of the good times. You and I. When I thought you loved me.
I remember....
The first time you kissed me in my room that night and said you felt the same. The first time you were inside of me. The first time you said 'I love you'.
All lies.
I wonder if there was any point at all in our relationship when you really did love me. Maybe you did or maybe that's just wishful thinking. I'm not sure anymore. I'm not sure about anything anymore. I laugh at the person I am now. A year ago I was a love life guy. I would smile at the time. People used to tell me I had a wonderful smile. Now people tell me 'You need to smile a more kid-o'.
I feel hot tears rolling down my face. I can't feel anything anymore. I smile at this fact.
O.K.
Just a little pinprick.
There I'll be no more aaaaaaaaah!
But you may feel a little sick.
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good.
That I'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go.
I hear footsteps. They are coming my way. They bang on the door. It's you. I laugh knowing I will be gone any minute now. You're too late. You say 'open the door!' . You're voice is in a panicked tone. I laugh. You open the door. Fuck! I forgot about the fucking key. Anyway it's too late and you know it. You run over to me and knee down. You have me in your arms now. You're covered in blood. My blood. You take my hand and put it against your face. Your saying things, but I can't make them out. You're crying. I smile. You kiss me. You kiss me with so more passion it hurts. I smile and say 'I love you'. You cry even more and try your best to smile. I close my eyes.
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying.
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown,
The dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb
