He was back in the temple. The glowing green light from the alter gave the entire room an unnatural glow. There was ale standing in front of the alter.
Alex was safe. That was all that mattered.
Rick walked toward his son. Alex slowly turned around till he was facing his father. His eyes snapped open. Rick stopped in his tracks. Alex's eyes which normally mirrored his mothers were gone. In their place was darkness. Glass of pitch black covered his son's eyes. All the good and strength and joy was gone. All that remained was darkness.
He just stood there frozen as the dark energy from the spring wrapped around him. Caressing his skin and contaminating his soul. All while Alex did nothing he simply stood with that hateful look on his face, a look that was so unnatural on his son's face.
Suddenly they were fighting hand to hand Alex was relentless never giving an inch while rick try as he might could not bring himself to fight against his son. "You can fight this Alex, don't let the evil inside you win" he was being torn up inside his son was being controlled by their most hated enemy. He vaguely wondered if this was how Alex had felt when he had been turned into a werewolf.
Imhotep continued to command Alex "finish him, and rule the world by my side". Alex pushed rick further back closer and closer to the well spring. Rick tried to fight back but Alex would not give an inch. Suddenly Alex forced his father to the ground. Ricks back was against the alter and Alex was above him with his staff raised to strike.
The staff came down fast and hard sure to make its mark and then…
Rick shot out of bed. He almost hit his head on the ceiling but that was the least of its concerns. It had been a week since they had left Nigeria and the spring of evil behind them but the event had not left ricks mind.
He had almost lost Alex, not physically but his soul had almost been taken away by there're most powerful enemies and rick had been completely powerless to stop it from happening. The fear that he had experienced that day was more terrifying than anything he had ever faced.
That dark version of his son was something he hoped never to face again. The only upside he could think of was how lucky it was that Evy had been too busy at Bembridge to come along. He wasn't sure if she could have handled seeing Alex like that. Rick was barley handling it himself.
But Alex was ok now. And rick had promised himself that Alex would stay safe. He had to stay strong. For Alex he would do anything. Face anyone he would keep his son safe no matter what.
gain i just don't understand how this is the only fic for TM:TAS well i hope i and others can remedy that. the entire series is now available for viewing on youtube. go and watch it then wright something or else imhotep will steal your eyes and tounge.
