River was gone, but the Doctor and Amy still remained. They both stared in the direction of the TARDIS, looking at the great expanse of the unknown planet. Amy turned to the Doctor, the blanket still wrapped around her and noticed the pensive look on his face. "What are you thinking?" she asked.
"Time can be rewritten," he stated happily.
Amy shook her head. "I don't understand."
"You're not meant to."
"But you seem so happy about it."
"So I do," the Doctor agreed.
"Why?"
He smiled and shook his head. "It's a long story, and maybe I'll tell it to you one day."
And with that the Doctor ushered Amy back into the TARDIS doing a lot of thinking. In his past, and River's future she died. He managed to work out a way to save her but what if he didn't have to save her at all? The Doctor wondered if he'd be able to re-write history, ensure that she never had to die at all. Time can be rewritten he told himself. So it is possible. And while the pessimistic side realized that if time could be rewritten it was conceivable that River could be erased from history like the Weeping Angels and the clerics had been with Amy, he was hoping that that was not the case and that he and River could have a life past her death.
After all, he thought to himself with a wistful smile. She's a riddle wrapped in an enigma wrapped in a mystery and I can't wait to figure her out.

DISCLAIMER: These characters belong to the BBC not me and I'm just borrowing them with no financial gain.
Author's Note: I was watching Flesh and Stone and I realized the look on the Doctor's face when he and Amy talk at the end. He's so thinking about River, who she is and who she killed and how she in turn is killed. I'm so excited for series 6, I literaly am chomping at the bit and on the edge of my seat waiting to find out who it is she killed and to quote Octavian "Who and what she is" though I hope that time isn't rewritten in the bad way leaving her to be erased. OH! that would totally suck. But I'm rambling, like the Doctor. Please leave a review! I'd love to know what you think.
