A/N: Just a little present for my younger sister. I thought it was kinda cute. Enjoy(:

Brushing the peachy-pink hair off of her forehead, Himeno sighed in relief as she realized she was done fertilizing her flowers. She loved to do it, but she always got so tired now, and it took much longer than it used to, too. That was probably because of the new way she was having to do things…not that she minded very much. Smiling, she laid her hand on her slightly rounded belly. She knew that she would do anything to protect that precious life. Sighing again, she picked up the watering can, ready to pour life giving water onto her beloved flowers, when a warmer, much larger hand covered her own. She turned her head only to see the face of her husband.

"What are you doing out here?" Hayate asked as he successfully took the watering can from his wife and set it back down.

"Taking care of my garden, what does it look like?" She snapped, putting her hands on her hips. This annoyed her. She was pregnant, but she was fully able to do simple things like water the flowers.

"It looks like you're doing more than you have to. I've told you a million times, we have gardeners for this. Come back inside."

"Why should I let somebody take care of my flowers when I love to do it and I'm perfectly able?"

"But you really shouldn't be out in this heat…it's not good for you or the…"

"Now you're going to tell me what's good for me?"

"Geez, what is with you today? Are your hormones acting up?"

"What exactly is that supposed to mean?"

"Gah! Calm down Himeno!" Hayate said as he wrapped his arms around his angry wife. He had to chuckle at the face that she put up no resistance. She just sighed and leaned her head against his chest. He found this easy acquiescence one of his favorite parts of her pregnancy. It was as if she were completely changed from the loud, borderline violent girl he had first fallen in love with. Needless to say that things had seriously changed since her days as Pretear. No more running around to destroy demon larva. No pret-ing with the leafe knights. In fact, their lives, all of their lives, had become strangely domestic.

Himeno quit talking only to realize that Hayate hadn't heard a word, he had been too busy staring off into space to pay attention. Eyeing the half-full water can, Himeno had an idea. She gently eased down to pick it up, and then smacked it against his head. To say he was surprised would have been an understatement.

"WHAT THE HELL HIMENO? WHY'D YOU HIT ME WITH YOUR DAMN WATERING CAN?" Hayate yelled while rubbing his abused head.

"I was talking for like five minutes and you didn't even listen!" Himeno said waspishly, crossing her arms and turning away from him.

"Geez, did ya have to nail me in the head with that damn thing? You could've just said something…"

"Hmm…I guess I could've…I didn't really think of that though…" Himeno said thoughtfully, looking innocent as could be.

"Whatever.." Hayate deadpanned. It was so hard for him to stay mad at Himeno for long now.

"Now, as I was saying, would you like to escort me in?" She asked playfully smiling up at her bemused husband.

"I would love to. Oh, but first." He said smiling slightly before bringing his lips to brush lightly against hers. All Himeno could do was smile and follow him as he lead her into their house. She did love him so very much.
