Figuring out What to Name the New Additions

"Jacks, can we talk?" Nick asked Jackie one night as the couple lay in bed, Jackie had her novel open, not really paying attention to anything around her.

"Sure, what's on your mind?" She asked as she laid her book down at her side.

"Well I wanted to ask you something. If the second baby is a girl would you mind if her middle name was Leanne after my sister?" (The sister that was killed in a car accident)

Jackie smiled softly at him and grabbed his hand.

"No, I wouldn't mind that at all, I was going to suggest it actually."

He smiled gratefully at her.

"I was thinking that since we know baby A is a boy we could name him Ryan Matthew since we never got to use it with Hundley. I still really like the name, do you?" Jackie asked.

"Yeah, I do too." He declared with a smile.

"Good. One down and one to go." She replied.

"Right." He said sounding triumphant.

She chuckled.

"Can naming baby B wait until tomorrow though, I'm tired, and I have a touch of a headache." He told her.

"Sure. I'm tired too." She replied.

Nick leaned over and kissed her and then they both fell asleep.

"Nicky." She shouted not long later.

Nick woke up at once.

"What's wrong?"

"I have a great idea, I thought of a way to name one after Leanne even if they are both boys."

"What's your idea?" He said feeling relieved, he thought for a second she'd gone into labor and that would not have been good, she wasn't anywhere near her due date, the babies were just too small yet to make their debut.

"Well it's a little out there but I thought for a middle name it would be ok." She stated before continuing "If the babies are both boys, instead of Ryan's middle name being Matthew it could be Leander, and then Matthew could be the middle name of baby b, what do you think?" She asked.

"I like that Jacks, that is a great idea!" He told her sincerely.

She smiled, as tired as she was she loved talking baby names.

"What did you have in mind for a first name for baby b?" He asked.

"I don't know, I haven't gotten that far, do you have any ideas?" She asked him.

"Not for a boy, but I met a little girl the other day with a name I thought was really pretty." He stated.

"Spill it." She said eagerly.

He chuckled.

"Jana, pronounced Jan-uh, the first part rhymes with ban." He said.

"That is really pretty but I think it's way to close to Johnna's name, and it doesn't sound very good with Leanne." She replied.

"Yeah you're right, it is way too close to Johnna's name, I never thought of that."

"Hey you tried." Jackie told him with a grin.

He laughed.

"I actually really like the name Nora, and I think it sounds pretty with Leanne, what do you think of Nora?" She asked him.

"I like that, it sounds old and worldly, I really do like it."

"Want to go with it if baby b is a girl?" She asked.

"Let's do it." He confirmed.

She smiled at him, she was excited, they were getting the names down.

"Now all we need is a first name for baby b if he is a boy." He stated.

"Yeah, and I don't have any ideas, and now I really am tired." She told him.

"I don't have any ideas either, and I am tired too, let's go to bed and we'll think about it tomorrow, but I am glad we have most of the names down, Ryan Matthew and Nora Leanne or Ryan Leander and something Matthew." He told her with a smile.

"I don't know honey, I really don't like the name something and it doesn't go that well with Stokes." She replied with a grin.

He was perplexed for a moment and then burst out laughing. He took one of their pillows and gently smacked her with it.

"Goodnight, love you." She told him.

"Night, I love you too." He answered her.

Before long both of them were asleep.
