"Again?"
"Yes, now."
"You sure? We've been doing this a lot lately. I don't see why we should hi-"
"Because!"
Ike's eyebrows shot upwards, vanishing beneath his cobalt hair. Lethe's curt retort wasn't entirely unexpected, but he was amused nonetheless.
"They are going to find out eventually, y'know."
Lethe frowned, and it was a cute look for her - her eyebrows joined into a sharp V, and her lips puckered up, and her cheeks flushed. Her violet eyes turned downwards, but only for a moment. "I know. But right now I don't feel like saying anything. You haven't spoken of this to anyone, have you?"
Her razor sharp tone had come back, and Ike smiled slightly. "No. I've been deflecting questions left and right about whether or not Aimee and I are in a "committed relationship"." He spat the last two words out, more than a little exhausted from the shopkeep's constant advances. He never went to buy supplies himself anymore, instead opting to send Soren or Titania.
"Good. Now...are you going to kiss me or not?!"
Ike laughed in spite of himself. "As you wish, my lady." He leaned in, joining his lips with hers in a gentle lock. They stood there behind the secluded tent, melting into the kiss, embracing tightly.
"Ahh! Oh! Oh, no!"
A jolt ran through the Ranger and he and his lover broke apart, whirling around with panic-stricken faces to see Aimee standing there, a hand pressed demurely to her mouth.
"Oh, my hero, I had such high hopes for us. But I suppose it wasn't meant to be..." The brunette gave Lethe a scalding look, which the Laguz returned with ten times the venom. "I suppose I shall have to acknowledge the fact that your heart will always belong to HER!" She half-shouted the last word, making Ike jump. He flailed, holding his hands out non-threateningly.
"Shhhh! Do you want everyone to hear?!"
Aimee paid him no mind then, instead choosing to keen loudly as she glided away, now undoubtedly about to tell every one she saw what their great new Commander was doing.
Ike hid his face in one gauntleted hand, muffling a groan. But to his surprise, Lethe said in a self-satisfied voice, "At least she won't bother you again."
