A/N: Another random little one-shot. I feel more inspired to write these than update my multi-chapters right now, so please bear with me. This is dedicated to everyone who reviewed/favorited my other one-shot, Mind Games. Hope you guys like this one too! The bolded and italicized words are from the actual episode. I don't own them. Bold is Chad, and italics are Sonny. The entire thing is written from Chad's POV. Enjoy!
Have You Ever?
Have you ever felt like the moment you've been waiting for all your life has suddenly come, and you have no idea what to do about it? Have you ever felt like the world is waiting for you to speak, but hard as you try, words can't come out of your mouth? Have you ever taken a deep breath and said something you were sure you would regret later, but you said it anyways?
Because I have.
"Sonny, will you go out with me?"
And let me tell you - it sucks. Especially when you find out that the moment you thought had finally come was all just based on a huge misunderstanding.
"I'm sorry, did you just ask me out?"
And that girl you're crushing on - crushing hard - actually doesn't like you, even though you thought she just said she did. In fact, she's shocked to think that you could even think so.
"I'm sorry, didn't you just beg me to?"
"Did you think I was talking about...oh, dear, this is awkward."
But no worries. If you work at it - or if you are the luckiest damn guy in the world (aka, me) - she might just say yes anyways.
"Yes, I'll go out with you."
"Good."
"Good."
And really, that's all that needs to be said. Because you know - and she knows - and soon, everyone will know - that it was all worth it. That messing up your imperfect moment didn't matter. That stumbling through an awkward conversation of hidden meanings and thinking the other person is saying something else actually can get you somewhere you might never have gotten otherwise. That your real moment, when it comes along, isn't even a moment. It's her. It's the look on her face when you wink at her. It's the blush rising on her cheeks when you speak.
"I'll give you the details tomorrow night."
"What's tomorrow night?"
"Our first date. See ya."
Have you ever fallen in love? Because I think I have. And let me tell you - it takes your breath away. She grins, and then...you know. You've fallen deeper than you ever thought you would or could. And hell, you actually don't mind. If she's with you for the ride...why not?
A/N: Now that you've reached the bottom, I have a question for you. Should I do a longer one-shot about "Falling for the Falls"? I've been thinking about doing one, perhaps like my story Chad: So Far, where I do the episode from Chad's POV. Tell me what you think – and feel free to offer up other ideas! Even if you have no opinion on that, please review this story anyways. Those of you who read/favorite without reviewing – I'm looking at you. Really, it takes hardly any time to make my day better. So please do. Thank you.
