Shadow was standing on a hill in Green Hill. The same one where his adventure started. He remembered it well. The aliens invaded and Black Doom told him to get the Chaos Emeralds. He got two in Central City, in the Westopolis area. He kept them for himself. As revenge, Doom sent him to to ancient ruins in Angel Island, where he found a third Chaos Emerald.
Rouge suddenly flew down to the hill Shadow was standing on. "Hello, tall, dark and brooding." Shadow replied, "Hello, Rouge." "So glad those aliens have left us. It's all thanks to you, actually." Shadow smirked. "In fact," she pulled out a G.U.N. card. "G.U.N. has asked to make you an agent. And at a high position too. Would be nice to work together, huh." Shadow replied, "Why would I work for the company that killed Maria and captured me?"
He had been to Prison Island twice. Once to steal some Chaos Emeralds, and once recently. He destroyed the remaining defense robots and aqquired a Chaos Emerald from them. He remembered then being captured and taken there. It was ay that point when Black Doom showed him a flashback of him and Maria healing wounded scientists and a soldier shooting Maria. He then took out the man who did it.
Back in the present, Rouge continued. "We saw a lot you did. You took down Eggman's battleship, and a bunch of the Black Arms. And I thought you could help fulfill Maria's promise to protect humans as a G.U.N. trooper. Plus, I'd like us to work together."
Shadow remembered taking down that blimp with Omega. He then defeated Eggman and took a Chaos Emerald.
Shadow asked Rouge, "But the commander hates me. He says I caused the death of everyone on the ARK." Commander Abraham Towers had told him that on the Space Colony ARK. He then fled to see if there was truth, but instead encountered an Emerald and Eggman. He managed to defeat the doctor and get the last Emerald. He then watped to the Black Comet to ask Black Doom if the comma der was right.
Rouge said, "That old bastard has learned to forgive and forget, or at least the president forced him to. He even let Omega join. He now sees it was not your fault at all that Maria died. You should take the job. You get a nice tread vehicle that turns into a boat and plane along with it. If Maria were here, she would want you to take this job. The original staff that killed everyone on the ARK isn't there anymore."
Shadow thought about it. It had been a long, rough road. He was finally at the end of his journey and destoryed Devil Doom. He decided, "I'll join." Rouge was a bit happy. "I'll contact the president and tell him you said yes. Now what do you say we go to my night club and celebrate?" Shadow wasn't one for celebration, but he decided to. "Why not." He was finally where he belonged. He put his past behind him and would go on to keep his promise to Maria. He may have moved on from her, but she would stay in his heart. He was on a new path and would never turn back.
Hey guys, hope you liked tbat story. I did my headcanon path based on Shadow's small flashbacks in the Last Way. That path is allows Shadow being told about the professer, finding out he may be a android made by Eggman, Blacl Doom showing him a flashback of Maria and being sent to Earth, and the Commander tellibg him he's a menace.
