Prompt #304 (Trope) One Night Stand

Veronica sighed as she rolled over in the bed. Her body ached in the most decliously ways. A slow smile lit upon her lips at the thoughts of the night before. She had been explored like never before. Her body felt like it was built like a temple. Her eyes blink slowly open wanting to see the goddess whom had created her. Her chocolate eyes found a blurry image in front of the rising sun through the bay windows. The geers in her brain started to race as it realized that it wasn't a female whom was standing there … but a man. "No, no, no, no … it's not possible." A mewl escaped her lips as she sat up in bed; her arms wrapped around her knees.

The man stepped away from the window. He stopped at the foot of the bed his arms crossed his bare chest. "I'm so sorry Veroncia." His husky voice broke at the end.

Veronica bowed her head onto her knees as her sobs broke free.

Chic sat on the bed and gently wrapped his arms around the broken young woman. He rested his head against her bare shoulder as her tears hit his skin. He just silently held her hoping that it was helping in some way. His thoughts running over the previous night … all their previous conversions … all their previous just simply being together. Trying to piece together in what second it felt right to take her to bed, and enter her.

Veroncia managed to finally pull away from him. She just wrapped the sheet more closely against herself as she just stared remorsefully into his compassitant blue green eyes. "I'm sorry." She husked out.

"You have nothing to be sorry for." Chic spoke in a low voice. "Nothing." He shook his head. "This is all on me."

"No. I wanted it just as much as you did Chic." Veronica breathed in. "I just thought that no one could do that to my body; my soul expect for Betty."

"When did she and you -" He trailed off.

"Never." Veronica smiled bittersweet. "She still doesn't know how I truly feel for her. She still thinks that I think of us as best friends." Tears rolled down her cheeks. "She's marrying Jughead."

"I know." Was all Chic could say.

Veronica swallowed.

Chic's heart beat quicker as he finally realized what Veronica said earlier. He swallowed. "I don't want this just to be a one night stand."

Veronica's eyes met his. "Chic, I can't." Her eyes lowered.

"I know that I'm not the Cooper that holds your heart; Veronica. But I am in love with you. I can love you in Betty's place." Chic spoke in a husky voice. "Just let me."

Veroncia's eyes lifted. "I can't do that to you. I won't do that to you Chic. You deserve to be loved for yourself. You deserve to be loved for your spirit and your heart. You don't deserve to be cheated on a full and true love." She reached out to gently run her hand down his cheek.

"Just don't shut the possiblity out; Ronnie. In a few years down the road perhaps your heart will change it's mind." Chic sighed as he stood to his feet. "I'm not giving up on you." He turned to go towards the bathroom.

Veronica watched as the door shut softly behind him. "You should." She brought her legs into her chest and bowed her head into her knees. Silent broken sobs burst out of her chest.
