It turns out that his worst fear wasn't that one day he'd look up and see that Sam's eyes had become Yellow.. No his absolute worst fear was that one day he would look in the mirror and find that it was always his own eyes turning Yellow that he should have been worrying about..
Or well, it would have been if he could still feel fear.
He's far more gentle than any demon has a right to be as he arranges Sam's steadily stiffening corpse to lay on the funeral pyre with his arms crossed over his chest, then he gently brushes Sam's hair from his forehead and whispers to Sam's corpse because Sam's soul is in Heaven and can't hear him anymore...
"Don't worry, little brother. I'll make it better this time around.", then he lit the pyre and disappeared.
Traveling back in time, causing his human memories to become fractured and obscured until he ended up overshooting the designated date he had set out to land in, because all he could remember was that he was missing something that was HIS and that he was going to find it at any cost..

So he killed most of them and watched as the rest fled for their lives then he let his father's voice lead him to Illchester, Maryland where he ditched his meatsuit and hopped into a Priest and rode that poor Priest good and hard, all the way to a nun factory where he slaughtered more than a dozen nuns.. There his father, Lucifer had given him an order to find him a child. A very, Special Child. And while this demon, this Yellow Eyed Demon might not know much about himself, he did know one thing… That he was really good at following orders..
And once he had laid eyes on Mary Campbell he knew that she was the one who would help him find his Sammy..
