Chapter 1

~Beginnings ~

A clock tower stood in the park, there were a few trees but it was mainly a grassy field. A single person stood in the field. She was wearing a white dress but you could see a pair of jeans peeking from underneath."Give me the child. Through dangers untold, and hardships unnumbered, I have fought my way here to the castle beyond the Goblin City, To take back the child you have stolen, For my will is as strong as yours, and my Kingdom is as great…My kingdom is as great…. Shoot what's that line…."

The girl reached into the folds over her dress and produced a book; the book was blood red with golden lettering on the front.

" You have no power over me."

In the underground

"Hermia, I don't know what to do. I love Demetrius but He is stricken with you."

Two girls sat beneath a big oak tree, one had hair as golden as wheat and a beautifully pale completion, while the other had hair the colour of cinnamon and was lightly freckled."Helena, sweet Helena. I love him not, I love Lysander and forever will, we would marry if it weren't for the laws of Egeus, To wed my fathers beloved Demetrius and to turn away from Lysander, I would never. " Said Hermia, the girl with the golden hair. "Since you are my closest friend, I think you should be the first to know. Lysander and I are running away. We will hide in the woods then go to his uncle's castle, in the Goblin Kingdom. There we can marry without the terrible laws. Then you sweet Helena, will have Demetrius all to your self"

Helena beamed with the sound of this good news. To have Demetrius all to herself again would be a dream come true. He had loved her, once upon a time but then had met Hermia and had fallen for her within seconds. "If that be so, good luck my dear Hermia and my best wishes to Lysander. If Demetrius would love me like he once did, that but sweetens the deal"

Hermia jumped up and gave her friend a farewell hug, she didn't know when or if she would ever see her again. "Farewell" said Hermia as she ran towards the town.

Helena sat alone, Her thought and imagination. What if I could get Demetrius to confess his love for me in the woods? If I told him they were leaving, He would be forever grateful to me! He would maybe even LOVE ME! "

Above Ground

"Oh No! I'm going to be late," Sarah cried as she heard the clock in the park strike seven."Come on Merlin." She said to her shaggy grey and white dog as she hitched up her skirts. The rain come down in buckets as she ran towards home. Sarah felt like her heart would beat right out of her chest as she reached the front door of her house and of course Susan was there waiting for her.

"Sarah you're an hour late. Come inside, it's pouring out there"

"I'm sorry, I lost track of time, come on Merlin."

"No, not the dog, Come go into the garage. Sarah" Said Susan as she turned to face her.

"You're father and I go out very rarely, all we ask of you is to take care of the baby while we're gone. Is that so hard?"

"Rarely? You go out every weekend! Ughh, I can't do anything right!" Sarah cried as she walked through the door and ran upstairs to her room.

"What happened?" Asked her father

"No matter what I say to her she treats me like a wicked step mother." Susan replied.

"Let me talk to her." Said her father as he walked upstairs to her room. It was going to be a long night, he could tell.
