Mabel held tightly to her umbrella as the wind threatened to tug it from her hands. Despite the rain pounding on the thin cloth covering above her head, there was no way she was going to go back now. Not from where she was going, and not on that day.

Slightly registering the squish of the wet grass underneath her shoes, Mabel hesitantly continued walking. She kept her head high, staring straight on, but inside she was doing everything she could to not break down with every step.

Once she reached her destination, she stood still, trying to keep up her facade. She tried not to lose herself at the sight before her. She truly did.

Yet, the lettering etched into the cold stone stood out in the dim light, blazing its words in her eyes, reminding her what she had lost.

She didn't notice when she dropped the umbrella, falling to her knees. As she could feel was the stone beneath her hands, desperately clawing at it, as if she could somehow make the words go away.

Her tears mixed with the rain as they rolled down her face in streams, her hair being plastered to her sweater.

"I'm so sorry, Dipper," she said softly as she started to calm down, only to slowly begin to weep again.
