This is my first fanfic, so please be gentle. :) It starts out when Bella is 5 years old and the last part is when Bella is fifteen. It will be either JxB or EdxB, I'm leaning towards JasperxBella right now.
Twelve years ago...
"Come on! Renee, you know that girl is a freak! She's crazy!" I knew daddy thought I was crazy, but hearing it from him, it hurt so much.
"My baby is not a freak!"
"Well there is something wrong with her. She talks to people who aren't even there!"
"What do you want to do with her? Put her up for adoption? Are you that heartless, Charlie?"
"You know it's not a bad idea. This isn't working, and we both know it. Let's start over, if we put Isabella up for adoption later on, it will be more difficult for her to get adopted. Think of her future, we can barely even feed her!" I heard mommy's defeated sigh all the way from the living room. I felt tears in my eyes. They didn't want me? I pulled blankie closer to me. I closed my eyes and tried to go to sleep.
A few weeks later...
I opened my eyes to see a dark skinned lady. Her dark frizzy hair framed her face and her chocolate eyes looked sweet and warm.
"Who are you?" I asked curiously.
"Your new momma, honey!" She replied, smiling warmly.
"Where are we?" I asked as I looked around. We were in a small cozy house, everything about it seemed homey. I could smell something sweet coming from the kitchen. Mommy and daddy did put me up for adoption, 'for my own good'. But days later, a sweet old lady adopted me.
"Your new house." The lady smiled warmly, and I couldn't help but smile back.
Ten years later...
I guess you could say, my life is pretty good. If Charlie and Renee wouldn't have put up for adoption, I wouldn't have met Marie, my adoptive mom. Marie is the most perfect mother, but lately she has gotten me worried. Her health is really bad, she says she's fine, but I don't believe that. I can see the pain in her eyes. She doesn't want to go to the doctor's for anything. Marie is the most accepting person that has ever lived. I told her about my 'gift'; that I can see ghosts. She said it was no biggie, she still loved me. That no gift of mine was going to make her stop loving me. Oh, how I wish that had come out of my real parent's mouth. Right now I was back from the grocery store, Marie felt too sick, so I wanted to cook her something special. I took out my house keys and unlocked the door.
"Mom, I'm back!" I called out but didn't get the usual response. That got me worried. My hands were shaking from the nervousness. She's probably sleeping. I told myself. I put the groceries on the counter, and wiped my sweaty hands on my jeans.
"Lily?" I called out. Lily was my ghost friend, she had died a few years ago close to this house and since then has stuck with me. Lily is a petite red haired girl.
"Bella! Hurry it's Marie! She won't wake up!" Cried a worried Lily. Lily was very fond of Marie, even though she couldn't talk to her. Lily was also a poltergeist, so sometimes she would move stuff around
"Where is she?" I asked as I looked around the house.
"In the attic. Hurry!" I hurried to the stairs as I climbed them, I thought how much pain Marie had must have gone through to climb them by herself. When I got to the top I could see Marie sitting on the rocking chair. As I walked closer, I could see that she was clutching a peach-pink box. Her expression was calm and she had a slight smile on her face. I fell forward, landing on my knees. I didn't like what I saw. I saw Marie's ghost. I felt sick and tears sprung to my eyes.
"No! Marie, why?" I asked her sobbing. I knew what would come next. I would be going to a foster house, once again.
