Jeb's head snapped up at the sound of a soft, airy laughter. He looked across the garden and saw DG talking to her sister Azkadellia. He smiled at her from his spot on the bench.

He liked to watch her. He liked to hear her laugh. She was so beautiful, she was so sweet. She had a gentle nature about her, and Jeb admired everything about her.

He remembered first meeting her, at the Resistance camp. He remembered his father introducing the two of them.

At first sight, Jeb thought she was beautiful. Her watery blue eyes stood out amongst her slight pale complexion and her raven black hair.

He remembered the feel of her hand shaking his, and the sweet smile on her face as he kissed her hand in greeting.

He remembered not having a lot of time to talk to her, because he was busy gathering people with his father to prepare to attack the wicked Azkadellia's tower.

But from what time he had gathered from spending with her, he knew they were so much alike.

They both felt lost in the world they were in.

DG felt lost on the other side. She felt like she didn't belong there. She felt like she didn't fit in. She still felt lost even though she had two parents who loved her so, even though they were robots.

Jeb felt lost in his own world. He had always thought that his father was dead, gone from his life. He had recently dealt with the loss of his mother.

Despite being the leader of the Resistance, Jeb still felt more alone then ever. He had no one to really talk to, no one to make him laugh or smile.

But DG made that different. Now that the witch was defeated, just being in her presence made him smile. He hadn't smiled in quite some time.

They did have the occasional small talk, and Jeb treasured that.

He could also tell that his father approved of their friendship, which was a plus.

Cain would look at DG as if she were a daughter he never had, a daughter he never had the chance to have. Jeb knew that soon Azkadellia would follow, but that would probably take some time.

Jeb watched as Azkadellia left the garden, and DG sat there looking at the yellow tulips.

Jeb felt a buttery-like feeling in his stomach. If he wanted to talk to her, he had to do it now. He had to work past how nervous he was and go up and talk to her.

Jeb slowly stood up, and he felt the cool breeze on his face. He made his way towards her, smiling slightly.

"Hello, DG…" Jeb stated.

DG's bright blue eyes met his, and she showed him a warm smile.

"Jeb! How have you been?" she asked, standing up and giving him a soft hug.

Jeb smiled down at her. "Its been going good, I hear that tomorrow Glitch is getting his brain back…" Jeb stated.

"That he is," DG replied, with a smile.

"Suppose my father finally convinced him?" Jeb asked.

"He was a help. But Glitch wants him there with him. Afterall, Cain is his best bud…" DG said, with a playful smile.

Jeb paused for a minute, to look at the ground.

"Well, I was-"

"Will you walk with me?" Jeb cut in, finally.

DG's eyes widened in slight surprise, before she let out a small laugh. Jeb quickly feared the worst, that she was laughing at him.

"Wow. Mind reader much? I was just going to ask you to join me…" DG statted.

"Oh…" Jeb said, a shocked expression on his face.

DG smiled to herself. He was cute when he did those faces.

She extended her hand to him. "Come on, let's get out of this garden first and then we can walk to the lake at Finaqua…" she stated.

Jeb took her hand in his, and together they began to travel on their little journey.
