The Origin of Sonny

Sonny didn't remember how she got her name. It had faded from her memory years ago with no signs of returning. But there was someone who did remember the origin of Alison Munroe's name.

Chad Dylan Cooper.

*Flashback*

"Alison! Where are you?" Connie Munroe called for her mischievous 5 year old, who had wondered off to the play area while her mum had been chatting to a friend.

"I'm here, Mummy! Can I have 10 more minutes? Pleaaaase!"

"Fine. But no more than that. We have to get back or Daddy will be locked out of the house!"

"Yay!" Giggled the adorable little girl. As she was running to the swing set, she collided with another child, knocking them both flying.

"Hey! Why don't you watch where you're going?" Said the blue-eyed little boy, dusting the dirt off of his jeans.

"Excuse me! Mummy says that you shouldn't be rude to people!" She yelled, her yellow summer-dress now all creased and dirty

"Well, your Mummy is DUMB!" Her yelled louder, but regretted it when he saw her pretty eyes well up with tears.

"Um, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it. Please don't cry" He could feel his cheeks flaming as he helped her up off the ground.

"It's ok" She mumbled, turning to walk away.

"No, wait! What is your name?" He grabbed her arm and turned her towards him.

"My name is Alison Munroe. What is yours?" The big smile she had been previously wearing re-appeared on her face.

"I'm Chad Dylan Cooper" He announced proudly, as if it was the name of a king.

"That's a nice name. It suits you" She grinned

"Thanks, but I don't think Alison suits you"

Alison stared at him, her face puzzled.

"What's wrong with my name?" Her voice sounded confused, and the smile had now faded off her face.

"Nothing. But I think you need a nicer name. Something that suits you better. What about Sonny?"

"Sonny?" Her face showing even more confusion than before.

"Yeah. Because you are always smiling, and you are wearing a yellow dress. And yellow is the colour of the sun!"

The smile appeared again.

Ok, I'll be Sonny"

"Will you be Sonny, will you really?"

They both giggled at his little remark and things were quiet for a moment. Soon, the silence was broken by Sonny's mother shouting for her to get in the car.

"Aw, That's Mummy!" Sonny sighed.

"Oh, Do you have to go home now then?" Chad frowned.

"Yep. Bye Chad!" She flashed him a toothy grin before skipping off in the direction of the exit.

"Bye Sonny!" Chad called after her, waving, and hoping they would meet again.

*End Flashback*

Chad never forgot Sonny. Every week of his childhood, he visited that park, hoping to see her.

She never showed up.

When they met again, Chad wondered if she remembered how she ever got her name.

One day he decided to ask her.

He went over to studio 3, and found Sonny in her dressing room.

He entered without knocking and took a seat on the sofa.

"What do you want, Chad?"

"Sonny, how did you get your name?"

"I honestly can't remember that long ago. My memory is like a sieve! Why do want to know, anyway?"

"Oh, just wondering..."He got up, and made his to the door.

"Really, Chad, really?"

He turned around and smiled at her, before walking back to his own studio.

Sonny didn't remember, but he always would.

Because she was his Sonny Munroe.

I am starting to notice all my stories are incredibly SHORT! I'm gonna have to start a multi-chapter sometime soon!

Anyways, hope you liked it! I know there are lots of Sonny's name stories on fan-fiction, but I wanted to take a shot of writing one!

;)
