There I sat in awe, head in hands, gazing at his gift. I had always idolized him, listening to Gorillaz when I was a kid made the situation more surreal.

The raven haired man finished up the performance and looked at me. "That's how you do it, Love" he said with a smirk "Now it's your turn.". I picked up my bass, nervous as hell. "Okay, so how is Diablo tuned?" I asked. "Oh, just standard tuning, I try not to over complicate my playing." He said adjusting the bass amplifier that sat to the left of him. "Now" he said enthusiastically turning to face me, "lemme see what you've got" The neck of the guitar shook in my hands. I was terrified. "Okay" I replied to the older man, hiding my nervousness. "Anything in particular?" I inquired. "Not at all, just jam away" he said, arms folded, examining my nervousness. I though to myself, naming various bassist in my head who had just 1 song i could play. I finally just decided to just play some Gorillaz stuff.

My hands held the fretboard I began playing the bass line for Every Planet We Reach Is Dead, mucking up every few notes, but I continued to play. Murdoc hummed along with the song. I chuckled at his attempt to reach the higher notes Stu can reach.

I finished the song more confidently than I had started. The man siting across from me stared intensely. I blushed under his gaze. "You know your not too bad ,you big poofball" he said tousle my hair. I giggled at his remark about my hair. "So it was alright?" I asked, placing my bass by my side. "You were great" he replied "I mean, not as good as me, but good." I raised my eyebrow "are you saying I could one day surpass the great Murdoc Niccals?" He smiled " not in a million years Love" he said walking over to the fridge and fetching two bottles of beer and handing me one "perhaps one day in your dreams." I accepted the drink and chuckled "Is someone upset they're losing their magic?"
He stared at me "My magic doesn't deplete" he said with a smile. I stood up, beer in hand, and leaned against the wall near him. "You're damn near dead" I chuckled "your magic is damn near gone." With that I walked away to pack away my bass cords and such. I turned around and Murdoc was gone. I shrugged it off and continued to pack my stuff.

After about 25 minutes of packing my stuff (sloppily might I add) I stood up to survey the area. Everything looked great to me. As I bent over to pick up my bass I heard someone come in. I ignored it, it was probably..someone, I don't pay attention to things. I slung the strap of my soft case over my shoulder I turned around and there was Murdoc, staring at me, his heterochromatic eyes boring into my soul. "Well hello" I said "I guess I'm out, I'll be back tomorrow though, maybe, possibly." "Alright then" he said stepping to the side, allowing me to pass. "Before you go though" he said grabbing my shoulder mid-stride, turning me around. Then he did the most amazing thing. He kissed me, not just peck on the lips kiss, but kiss kiss. It was everything I had always wanted it to be, as a little girl, kissing his poster I had dreamed of this day. The kiss was perfect in every way possible. All I could do was stare, just blankly stare into nothing, I felt my face get hot, like, melt an ice cube hot. I was in shock and awe. Seeing my face I saw the satisfaction creep onto his "You can go now" he declared with a smirk. "Oh, and remember love" he said before leaving the room.
"I'll never lose my magic."
