Two words that mean so much.
Harry. Potter.
Two words. A first name, and a surname.
One word- Harry- a simple, although not very common, name, meaning little to most people. A boy's name from a Germanic origin, meaning, "Home Ruler". Simple, right?
I can't think of many people with the first name Harrison. Yes, like Harrison Ford, who we learned in Muggle Studies is a quite well known movie actor. Henry, yes. Like Henry Jameson, who we learned in the History of Magic is the creator of the Expelliarmus spell. Harrison and Henry are quite popular.
Harry, on the other hand, is not.
A five letter, two syllable, one word, first name: Harry.
The second word-Potter- is once again just a normal surname. Well, to Muggles at least. In the Wizarding World, it's legend. One of the very few families that has been around since the beginning of Wizards and had been on the light side all along. Potter; like Charles and Charlotte Potter- the famous Aurors. Or James and Lily Potter- the famous Auror duo who gave their lives for their son. Which leads me to the final Potter I'm talking about.
Harry Potter.
The Boy-Who-Lived. The One-Who-Defeated-Voldemort. The Boy-Who-Conquered-Death. Whatever.
Harry. Potter.
These two separate words are normal. Usual. Things you hear in everyday life.
Put together, though, are remarkable. Amazing.
Jaw-dropping.
Two words that mean so much in the Wizarding World.
So much to the Weasleys.
To Sirius
To Molly
To James.
To Leah.
Mean so much to me.
But every time I hear that name, my heart stops. I freeze. I look around as if he'll pop out of the bushes and say, "Surprise!" and everything will be okay.
As if the last three years have been pretend.
As if he wasn't captured by Death Eaters 18 months after Leah was born.
He would scoop me up in my arms and everything would be okay, that I would have my dad again.
But that's not going to happen- ever.
He's been gone three years now.
He's not coming back.
Hello. I'm Lily Potter, the oldest of five kids and daughter of Harry and Ginny Potter.
Nice to meet you, too.
