"I got my eye on you."
That was first thing Lubbock said in the morning to Susanoo. Of course the human teigu had no clue why he was receiving these random threats, but he continued on about the day. After all, he has no time to question the hostility when he has a busy schedule.
As each hour passed, he came to a realize that Lubbock did in fact have his eye on him. Very closely. When Susanoo made lunch, he felt an eye on him from around the corner of the kitchen. When he went to train with Chelsea in the backyard, there was an eye on him form the porch. When he made small talk with Najenda, he could practically feel a hole burning through the back of his head. It was very obvious Lubbock did not enjoy his presence and the answer was simple; He was in the way of his supposed love interest, Najenda.
"So... done getting praised by Miss Najenda?" Susanoo turned, looking around for a bit on purpose. This made Lubbock growled. "Down here!"
"Ah, hello Lubbock." Susanoo greeted calmly with a small smile. On the inside, it was a pleased smile from the reaction. He could not help but tease Lubbock because it is so easy to infuriate him. "We were just discussing dinner preparations. Do you have any suggestions?"
"No!"
"Well then, I must get going." Susanoo said with a small bow and made a move to leave, but Lubbock quickly grabbed his sleeve.
"What else... do you and Miss Najenda talk about...?" He asked hesitantly. This kid is so obvious about his feelings for the boss.
"Let's see. Dinner, war strategies, headquarter protection, and small talk."
"Small talk about what?" Susanoo raised his blue eyebrows.
"Just small talk." Lubbock let go of his sleeve and pointed at him determinedly.
"Don't you try any funny business, you hear?" He warned with the best threatening look he could muster, however to Susanoo, he looked quite cute.
"Of course. What would you like for dinner?" Susanoo said, switching the subject on purpose to catch Lubbock off guard. Needless to say it worked.
"D-Dinner...?"
"Yes. Isn't there something you've always wanted to try?" Lubbock looked down with an uncertain yet thoughtful look. Susanoo could see that his face has somewhat softened once he looked up again.
"Lobster. I haven't had it since I was a kid."
"I see. I will make note of that." He responded. Eventually, Lubbock had to break down the cold exterior he gave off.
"..."
"I'm sorry, what was that?" Susanoo asked teasingly and Lubbock's cheeks flushed pink while looking as though he was swallowing his pride.
"Thank you!" He growled behind his teeth with clenched fists by his sides.
"No need to thank me. It's my pleasure."
"Che. Why didn't you say that earlier so I wouldn't have to..."
"It's fun to mess with you. You're cute." Susanoo said lastly while ruffling the younger boy's hair before walking off, leaving Lubbock to stand petrified with a bright red face.
