Title: What are you doing here?

Just a little diddy I put together that popped into my head while I was listening to the song "The walk" by Imogen Heap.

"What are you doing here?" Connie stared up at him accusingly.

"I couldn't keep away you know you feel it too. That kiss …," He stared at her, pain evident in his eyes.

"That kiss was a mistake," She shook her head.

"You can't say that after everything."

"It wasn't supposed to mean anything." She takes a step back.

"Then prove it to me, kiss me again and tell me you felt nothing between us." He stepped closer towards her.

"I don't have to kiss you to prove this friendship is a mistake," they stand in front of each other.

"So we're friends again."

"I didn't mean it that way," she sighed, "We have been friends since elementary school nothing is going to change that."

"This might," he reached and kissed her she put her hands on his shoulders. Then letting them slide down to his chest.

"Don't please, don't do this," she pushed him away with the lightest touch.

"I don't get It, Why not?" He sighed, looked straight into her eyes to look for something any kind of sign.

"You can't just go dating your best friends ex it's like an unspoken rule," She looked right back at him. Putting a wall between them but the way he was looking at her the hardness was melting away. He let his arms fall to his side.

"Connie that was a long time ago we were in high school when you guys stopped dating. What are you afraid of?"

"I'm not afraid I just don't think we should go any further than friendship," He reached over and put his hand gently on her shoulder letting it caress her arm.

"You're afraid of what could happen if I would hurt you?"

"No I'm not."

"Then prove it to me show me you don't feel the same," He kissed her softly the kiss deepens and he holds her in his arms. She pulls away practically with tears in her eyes.

"I can't I just can't ok," she sighed.

"Then I will wait for now. Why guy didn't hold on to you I will never know but I don't want to wait another four years for a chance to be with you. If you really don't want me then tell me because I really want to be with you."

"Please just give me some time to think. Is that ok?"

"Ok just don't play games with me," he sighed, "I think I better go."

"I'll see you around," they hug and he kisses her on the forehead then leaves, "Night Connie."

"Night Fulton," She hugs herself.
