Okay, so yeah, I'm writing an ATLA fanfiction now! I always loved the show, how it could be so funny, but then change in an instant. Remember how in the episode "The Guru" [Correct me if I'm wrong] Katara saw Zuko, which made her tell the "Kyoshi Warriors", getting her in danger, making Aang lock his Avatar State, taking Sokka from his Dad? See? Like Guru Pattick said, 'Funny what invisible strings connect us all'. Anyway, if Katara HADN'T freaked out, a lot of stuff would be different.
"I'm brewing as fast as I can," Iroh called out to his nephew. They had been in Ba Sing Se for a while now, and even acquired their own tea shop; The Jasmine Dragon. His nephew, Zuko, had recently gone through a metamorphosis of sorts. His mind and body had been in conflict over his decision to free the Avatar's sky bison. When he awoke, his fever was gone and a warm feeling of content took its place.
Meanwhile, a girl native to the Southern Water Tribe was on her way to deliver a message from The Council of Five to the Earth King. Her name was Katara. On her way, she decided to buy some tea at The Jasmine Dragon. She stepped inside the building. Katara let out a gasp. She was going to stop for a cup of tea with Momo, and she had seen the banned prince of the Fire Nation, Zuko.
"Miss? Your table is ready," The attendant told Katara. She nodded, walking over to the table.
"What is he up to?" She asked herself aloud. Momo had ignored this comment, preferring to eat the bread in the basket of the table. She eyed him from across the room, noting his every move. First he picks up a blade. Katara opened her water pouch. Then he goes to a table. She let the water go to her hand. Finally...after what seemed like an eternity...he cuts a little boy's slice of bread.
What? That's...innocent!
Katara put the water away. She continued to watch Zuko, and now Iroh, daring them to try something, anything. After all, Katara was many things; Naive wasn't one of them, though. Zuko turned around and locked eyes with her. He made a beeline for Katara's table, widened his...eye. His scarred eye widened slightly, but it couldn't open much. He opened his mouth and spoke through his teeth.
"Welcome...to the Jasmine Dragon. What can I...get for you today?" He said painfully.
