"Come play Call of Duty with me."
"No."
"Why not?" Emmett whined, much like a 5 year old that didn't get their way.
"Many reasons. I dont know how to play. You're a vampire, so you'll beat me no matter what.
"I'll go easy on you."
Bella closed her book and looked at him. "Really?" She said sarcasticlly.
"Yes." Emmet said with a giant grin.
Getting up from her seat and walking out of the room Bella stated "No."
Emmett flopped down on the couch and sighed.
"Pleeeeeeeeaaaaassse!" Emmett yelled, his voice echoing through the house.
Bella stopped. "If I play one game with you, will you leave me alone for the rest of the day?" She asked, running a hand through her hair.
"Yes."
"Promise?"
"Of course."
"Say it."
"I promise."
Bella trudged back into the room and plopped down on the couch. "Teach me." She said with no enthusiasm.
"I'm done! This is so stupid." Bella said, putting her controller down on the coffe table and crossing her arms. "I've played like 5 'rounds' or whatever with you and I've lost every one."
"So you're just gonna read until Edward gets back?"
"Yes, that's what I planned."
"That. Is. Lame." Emmett said, grinning.
"Lamer than video games? I don't think so."
"Bella. I'm just trying to connect with you. You're gonna be my little sister soon and I wanna know you."
"Compromise?" Bella said, feeling slightly bad about being harsh.
"How about I... teach you to play football."
"How about you teach me to catch and throw a football. I have no interest in the rules of the game." Bella got up from her seat and started walking towards the door. "Come on."
"Yes!" Emmett said, jumping from his seat and running out the door, vampire speed.
"Alright, so you hold the ball like this." Emmett said, lining his fingers up with the stitches and showing it to her.
Bella struggled to wrap her hand around the seemingly giant ball that Emmett had lent her. She lined her fingers up like Emmett had showed her, though she had a very hard time actually holding onto it.
"I'm gonna run over there and you're gonna try and throw it to me, okay?"
"I dont think I can..."
"Just try." Emmett said before showing up across the driveway. "Alright, throw it!"
Bella glanced from Emmett, to the ball, and back again before cocking her arm back, like Emmett had showed her not even 5 minutes ago. With all her strength, she chucked the ball.
It was in no way, shape, or form a perfect spiral. It only made it about half the distance. Bella sighed, running a hand through her hair.
"Good try!" Emmett said, running to get the ball. He threw it back to her. She caught it with ease, a skill she had actually managed to learn from Emmett, even though it took her almost half an hour. "Throw it back to me again, it'll be easier now that I'm closer."
Slightly discouraged, Bella shifted from one foot to the other. She took a deep breath and cocked her arm back again.
Her throw was better this time, and it actually reached Emmett this time.
"YES! Bells you got it!" Emmett yelled grinning. He ran over to her and caught her in a bear spun her around as they both laughed.
"Thanks,Emmett!"
"Having fun?" Edward asking, smiling at the bonding.
"Emmett taught me how to throw a football!" Bella said, actually proud of her accomplishment.
"Seriously? You taught her something about sports? Congratulations."
