Chapter 1

Twisted every way what answer can I give?

Minerva turned and blinked at him.

Am I too risk my life to win the chance to live?

He looked back at her, trying to hide any emotion that could creep into his face. Be it sorrow or anger.

Can I betray the man who once inspired my voice?

Memories came to both of them.

Do I become his prey?

He resisted the urge to rush forward and simply hold her. She looked little and appalled.

Do I have any choice?

He failed. He ran the few meters between them.

He kills without a thought.

She pushed him back, started to over come her shock at his request. His plea.

He murders all that's good.

She turned her back on him, trying to stop the tears that filled her eyes.

I know I can't refuse.

He pulled her too his chest and wrapped his arms around her front.

And yet, I wish I could.

She resisted the urge to relax into his embrace, as done so many times before.

Oh god, if I agree, what horrors wait for me?

She stared at the ugly burn on his pale arm.

In this, the phantom's opera...
