The problem with 17 teen year olds, is they think they'll live forever.
Remus Lupin's shut in. he knows he is, hidden away in his room of parchment and books and old memories. He's shut in, but now that Sirius is dead there's no real reason to to leave and the children bring everything he needs anyway.
The children who are solders, who are heroes and fighters but are really just seventeen year olds who think they are invincible. There's Hermione who's intelligent and observant but she's in love with a boy who knows more about chess than he dose about people. there is Ginny who is fiery and strong and tempered as her mother is and keeps up with their play even though she's a year younger. And then there is Harry who is both shy and brave and there are ghosts in Remus' eyes.
And together they are a very good team but they want to save the world and they don't know that they they'll probable die trying. Oh, they know the risks and the sacrifices and they do worry a lot he knows.
The problem is their 17 teen year olds and they think they'll live forever.
Come out with us Remus they tell him most days the world is not as bad as you think it is
and he smiles and rep lies perhaps some other day even though he knows he won't because it hurts to be around them and remember.
Because remember he dose, when he was that age and just a sweet kid with too much heart for his own good. And he had four wonderful friends whom he'd thought he'd always have because he was seventeen and he'd thought they'd live forever. But his four friends were dead because they'd tried to save the world and didn't realise the world didn't want to be saved. And they are the real reason that Remus' stuck in.
The war raggers on and the children come less now and they don't ask him out because apparently the world's not good any more. Hermione doesn't want to think or see any more and Ron's finally realised chess isn't so fun when your pieces can bleed. Ginny's mother is dead and she's not so bold any more and Remus isn't the only one with ghosts in his eyes because Harry's getting haunted as well. And one day he looks back and sees that their not 17 teen any more and they know it too and their tired of saving the world.
Because that's the problem with 17 teen year olds is they think they'll live forever but one day they grow up and realise they won't
