Hi! This is just a short thing that I thought of, but I hope you like it!

Names. First names, middle names, last names; they all mattered. Names were like the covers of books, but for people. Some names had pretty meanings. Some, well, not so pretty. A lily was pretty, wasn't it? So the girl must've been pretty if her name was Lily.

Wrong.

Her name was Lily Potter II, and it was the ugliest name in existence. It might look nice, it might sound nice, but it wasn't nice. It was a curse.

Victoire Weasley. That was a horribly, disgustingly pretty name. Victoire meant victory in French, and Weasley meant brave, loving, kind, funny and red-haired.

Lily Potter II. Lily meant lily, and flowers always wilted and died. Potter meant that she was the savior's daughter. And being the second meant that she was only the second best version of the first. She wasn't her own person. She was named after someone better than herself.

And of course, Victoire still meant victory, which was true. She was the victor of Teddy Lupin's heart, while Lily was just the girl named after the woman killed by the Dark Lord, which held true to Lily Potter II, because she was also killed by the new Dark Lord: heartbreak.
