A/N: This is the Tia/Andrew one shot I wrote. It was inspired when I listened to Love Like Winter by AFI on repeat a few dozen times. It's not long, and kind of depressing- but then again so are most tragedies, and that's what there story is "A modern day tragedy"(Tia's own words). If you haven't read up to chapter eight: "A Modern Day Tragedy" in Shadow Rising, I wouldn't read this. It'll spoil the story for you. I also put up the other Moonlight Sonata one-shot: One Night. It's rated M, but if you're interested, I'd love for you to read it. Now, I'm gonna work on Shadow Rising. Enjoy:

Love Like Winter

His body had been a mangled mess.

Not very romantic, but it was true. The first time Andrew had met Tiazza, he had just managed to escape from a coven of vampires and was paying for it. He had been sure she was an angel.

Until she spoke.

"You look like crap."

Unable to speak, Andrew had glared at her. Uninterested, but unable to finish what the other vampires had done, Tia had turned around and walked away.

The second time they met, Tiazza was cornered by three vampires determined to end her existence. Having never seen a werewolf before, the trio fled upon Andrew's entrance.

"Why did you help me?" she had asked him.

"Not everyone is as cold-hearted as you."

That was the first time Tiazza had ever questioned her beliefs.

It wouldn't be the last.

The third time, Tiazza had been looking for him.

"Someone would almost think you were stalking me."

"Why can't I forget you?" she asked, ignoring his jibe.

"I'm very unforgettable."

"You're my enemy."

"Am I?" he had replied, raising an eyebrow at her.

That was the second time Tia questioned her beliefs.

The fourth time, he was waiting for her.

"Why do I keep being draw to you?" she asked.

Andrew hadn't answered. He just grabbed her and pressed his lips against hers hungrily.

She hadn't fought him.

The fifth time they met, she didn't leave him until the next night. Andrew showed her how love was meant to feel, and Tia let him be the balm on her beaten soul.

The sixth time, everything fell down around them.

Aro had grown suspicious of Tiazza's behaviour and sent two of the guard to monitor her. Andrew barely escaped with his life. Tiazza had been forbidden from seeing him.

But she couldn't stay away.

Seven. Eight. Nine.

It was on the tenth visit that Andrew was taken. It was only thanks to Tia's begging that he was allowed to live.

Some days she wishes she had killed him on that first meeting- mostly when she hears his tortured howls.

Most days, she hopes for a miracle that will allow them to be together again.

Tia never did believe in miracles.
