The king was very demanding, and had very little patience. There were some citizens who wouldn't obey, but he had a loyal escort of three faithful knights who followed him everywhere. One of these knights was a maiden, but nobody knew, not even her.
The king discovered his condition. She was a queen, in armor and sword. And with that, she also learned that her youngest knight was a maiden too. But she decided to hide it, she wasn't convinced.
The knights that were actually knights really wanted to have children. But there weren't any maidens around to have children with... at least, not that they knew.
