The Patil twins sat together at the drinks bar during the Yule ball, after both of their dates, Harry Potter and Ron Weasley, had ditched them for reasons only known to them. Padma had resigned herself to the fact that Ron was immature and not her type of guy early into the night. Parvarti was just happy that Harry could somewhat dance, and didn't injure her toes too much. Neither of them saw Hogwart's more notorious set of twins until they were sitting on either side of the Indian girls.
"Hello ladies!" Fred said brightly.
"Did our little brother and the Boy-Who-Lived ditch Hogwarts' prettiest set of twins?" George asked.
"Yes, they did." Padma answered, stirring her drink with a straw.
"They were quite rude about it too." Parvarti said, flipping her hair out of her face.
"Don't worry, ladies, we Weasley twins are in the same predicament." Fred said.
"Our dates found some French boys that they preferred to dance with, rather than us." George explained.
"What we're trying to ask, fair maidens, is,"
"Wouldn't you rather dance with us,"
"Than sit at the bar completely miserable,"
"For the rest of the Ball?" They finished.
Two, or rather, four, could play the twins-speak game.
Padma started "The two of you make an interesting offer,"
"But we've heard of the reputation. How do we know," Parvarti continued.
"That the two of you,"
"Aren't doing this for a prank,"
"And are actually serious?" The Indian twins finished together.
"Because McGonagall threatened to take all House Points from Gryffindor, and kick us off the Quidditch team, and give us detentions for the rest of the year if we even thought about pranking the Ball." Fred answered, exaggerating slightly.
The Indian girls laughed, and stood up with their new dance partners. They switched partners every song, and it made for a fun time. At the end of the dance, the two sets of twins were two of the last couples out of the Great Hall. They walked up to the landing on the seventh floor where Ravenclaws branched off to head to their tower. Fred walked Padma to Ravenclaw, while George and Parvarti continued to Gryffindor.
Inside the common room, Parvarti thanked George for an excellent time. She began to move off to the girl's dorms. As she got about halfway up the stairs, George called "Parvarti, I've got something to ask you!"
It attracted the attention of the whole common room, including both of their previous dates, Harry and Angelina.
"Yes, George?" She answered.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He called.
She smiled. "Sure. Why not?"
The common room suddenly exploded with noise. Halfhearted protests could be heard from Harry and Angelina about the loss of their dates. Unbeknownst to the two halves of the twin sets, the same scene had also occurred in the Ravenclaw common room with Fred and Padma.
