"Lapis is a big girl she can do whatever she's wants," Peridot muttered into the stale air of the temple's bathroom. Peridot felt the familiar warmth behind her eyes. But she blinked it away, she had cried plenty for one day. Knock, knock!
"You ok Peri?" Steven's voice drifted in under the door, "May I come inside?"
"Yes Steven, you may," she sighed and sat up to greet Steven. He tentatively opened the door. Almost like he was afraid that a loud nosie was going to frighten Peridot.
"How are ya doin' Peri?"worry tinted his otherwise happy-go-lucky voice.
"I'm fine Steven really there is no need to worry about me," she said.
"Oh, okay well I-all of us were thinking you could sleep on the couch, ya know it's gotta be more comfy than in the bath tub," Steven offered. He sought out Peridot eyes in an attempt to show that everyone, Amethyst, Garnet, and Pearl were all trying to make an effort. But Peridot didn't meet his eyes.
"I'll come out of here for, a bit." She reluctantly got up and stepped out of the tub. Steven smiled relief flooded over him.
