Johto Journey-a retold version starting from Union cave
Chapter one: Save the captive Slowpoke
"Ooh, Ash Ketchum, I'm steaming mad at you," Misty Waterflower said with a look of disgust. Misty said this because Ash, Misty and their friend Brock had been wandering around in Union cave for some time trying to find the way out to Azalea Town, to get the Hive badge.
"It's not my fault!" Ash wailed.
"Oh yeah" said Misty? "Yeah." During Ash and Misty's conflict, Brock had been studying the map on his Pokégear. Suddenly Brock's eyes lit up.
"I know the way out!" he cried. He began to point and direct. Ash and Misty stopped short and stared at Brock. Silently, they followed Brock as he led them through the twisted maze of Union cave.
Finally they came out. Ash saw a very pretty town. He saw a house to left of the Pokemon Center. That must be where Kurt lives, he thought. Kurt was a Pokéball maker. He took different colored apricorns and turned them into different kinds of Pokéballs. Suddenly a man came rushing out at Ash. He stopped to catch his breath. "I-I am Kurt the Pokeball maker," he said. "I have just found out that my daughter Kelly's Slowpoke and many others have been stolen for their tails. Professor Oak has said that you are a great trainer, so please help me Ash!" Kurt paused. "I'll tell you what, any time that you want to change an apricorn into a pokeball if you bring it to me I will do it for free." At that offer Ash couldn't refuse.
"All right" he said. "I'll help you."
Ash followed Kurt to the well. Kurt jumped in and motioned for Ash, Misty, and Brock to follow. Once inside they nearly fell from a pack of Golbat rushing by. They seemed to be scared by something. He followed Kurt to the end of the cave. Two figures and a cat pokemon were standing behind a table chopping off slowpoke tails. Ash recognized them at once. It was team Rocket. By that time Jessie and James knew they were there.
"Prepare for trouble!"
"Make it double!"
"To protect the world from devast-"
Misty cut off Jessie.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah!" said Misty, sweatdropping.
"We all know that." Misty put on a high voice and tried to sound like Jessie. "To protect the world from devastation." An angry look came on Jessie's face.
"Ugh!" screamed Jessie. "How dare you imitate the slogan of Team Rocket!" Jessie said holding her face up.
"Go Arbok! Poison sting attack now!" Jessie took a pokeball from her waist and threw it on to the ground.
"Charrbok!" screamed a snakelike Pokémon. It shot poison out of its mouth. "No!" Screamed Kurt. Just then Kelly's slowpoke jumped out and darted over Kurt. The poison hit Slowpoke.
"Slow!" it cried.
"Go Weezing! Smog attack now!" James threw his Pokéball, letting out Weezing.
"Slowpoke use Tackle!" Kurt directed his pokemon.
"Slowwww!" Slowpoke hit Weezing with such force that Weezing fell to the ground. The same happened with Arbok.
"Go Victreebell!"
"Go Lickitung!" Team Rocket sent out new Pokemon.
"Arrgh!" Ash saw James's Victreebell attack James, pulling his head into its mouth.
"All right! All right!" screamed James. "I'll buy you a pizza. But I get to choose the toppings." Victreebell trapped James in its mouth once more.
"Lickitung, Stomp!
"Licki." Slowpoke cried out in despair. Just then a white light filled the well. "What is that light?" Brock asked. Holding his hand out to block the light. "Slowpoke is evolving!" Misty shouted.
