She's quick on her feet and surprisingly agile; she put Adrien on the defensive more often than not.

It was fun to be pushed over the edge in a challenge like this, to be pushed to try to succeed, and Adrien couldn't help but thrive under the sudden pressure. It pushed him, made him stronger, made him faster, made him a better fencer.

Kagami was a friend too, kind when they'd spoken, ambitious, eager to succeed for her family's sake, and she'd probably been fencing for longer than Adrien had. He didn't mind the challenge though, actually thrived on it.

How are you to succeed if you never feel pushed? Kagami pushed him, made him stumble and struggle, and yet she also seemed to thrive under it. Adrien thrilled over every new challenge; it reminded him of why he'd came to love being a fencer over time or at least like it more than he'd thought he would, and it reminded him of why some Akuma battles shouldn't be fun, but were.

He loved the challenge, found it shocking when he realized who Kagami was and the fact that she was a girl, and yet when they fenced, all he saw was the challenge and a woman that was rapidly becoming a friend of his. Adrien thrived under challenge, and Kagami in fencing was the the ultimate challenge in that sport for him.

Adrien just felt unbelievably excited that she was as kind behind the mask, as kind outside of battle as she was; she was a friend of his, a new one.

Just challenging her lit a fire up in his chest of pushing himself, of finding new ways to grow and become a better fencer; he loved fencing against her, loved trying his best to the point of wearing himself out to beat her, and he could just tell that she felt the same from how she battled against him.

Joy sparked out when you pushed yourself past all known limits, and he was more than excited to try to overcome the difficulties placed before them and to make a new friend through them was even more awesome.

Kagami's one of his newest friends, his most talented challenge, and his fencing rival. Through each other, they grew so much at their sport, and through every attempt to rise above the challenge, they came to understand each other, became better friends.

Adrien could gladly say that every now and then or may be even more often than that, you needed a friend that truly pushed you, and helped you grow. Kagami was that friend for Adrien in fencing, pushed him farther than he'd perhaps ever gone, and pushed him farther by her own force and sense of will than anyone had ever done.

He's glad to call her a friend even though they're always eager to challenge each other, to push as hard as they can to win, to really grow by each other's side. Sometimes the best talking is through action, through the point of a rapier, through some kind of battle, some kind of challenge.

Adrien feels unbelievably lucky to call someone that skilled a friend, to call someone that talented that truly pushed him farther than ever his rival.

Kagami is a newer kind of friend, but not one that he needed any less than his other friends; she helped him grow, and Adrien was so, so thankful for that. "Kagami, you're a great friend even though you may not know it."
