It was the start of a new school year in the academy and the new freshmen have arrived. A young man with raven had just step foot on the island and instantly heads to the Ra dorms, as he saw 3 obelisk upper-class students that happen to be handing to their dorms going the same direction as the freshman.

"Someone from the incoming freshmen had declined the offer…" one of the obelisk upper-class men said starting their conversation

"What? I heard the invitation was sent by Seto Kaiba, himself!" The other had replied

"Yeah—I wonder what went through his head-- Thinking he could just decline!" The third one exclaimed

"But they say he's some prodigy from Japan and comes from a prestigious family."

"They said he's coming today in Seto's helicopter to make him welcome or something like that."

A flash happened to pass by the raven haired and the group of upper-class men in what they thought to be a person smiling and had just ran passed them; a girl with long reddish brown hair with a bag pack on her back. Unfortunate for her the zipper of her pack was open and all of her things fell, due to all the running she did, on the dirty floor just in front of the group of obelisk students, which made her stop and sighed.

(A/N: Physics go figure! hahaha)

"Not again!!" She protested and began to pick up her things

"Hey YOU! Freshman! Didn't anyone tell you that you shouldn't block obelisk students' way?!" One of the obelisk mused at her as he step on her things as the other two laughed at her expense

"Hey!! That's MY stuff!!"She replied trying to get all her stuff Damnit!! Are all obelisk student assholes?!

"Hey didn't anyone tell you it's bad to pick on people?!" A brunet guy who was only a few meters away from them shouted with a smaller boy with blue hair in tow

"I'll show you--" He replied as he accidentally kicks dirt on the girl's topaz eyes.

"Damnit!! I can't see--" The girl shouted as she tries to rub off the dirt

"What is going on here?!" A professor had said with a cat in his hands had mused as he moved closer and closer to them

"Professor Banner!" The obelisk students gasped

"We'll get you for this—Come on." The obelisk mused and the group left

Tears started to fall from her eyes as she rubbed fanatically and desperately tries to see again.

"A-are you ok?" The blue hair boy said to the girl as he and his company run up to her

"I'm sorry, but can you please help me gather my stuff?"

The raven haired guy had explained to the professor what had happened as he witness every single detail.

"I see—then can you please escort her to Ms. Fonda Fontaine?" Banner had told him

He nodded and headed to her direction, as the other two went and pick up her things scattered on the floor.

"W-who's there?!" Still trying to take the dirt off her eyes

The raven haired boy grabbed her wrist and said sternly, "You shouldn't rub your eyes like that—you'll damage them."

"Bastion Misawa, a freshman Ra student." He continued as he gently lets go of her hand

"I'm Ashley, just Ashley— I'm a freshman Ra student too—pleased to make your acquaintance."

"Well, I'm Jaden Yuki! I'm a freshman Silfer student." The brunet exclaimed as he ran back to their direction

"I—I'm Syrus Trusdale, also a Silfer freshman--" The blue head had sheepishly said as he walked towards the group

"I really wish I can see your faces so I'd know who you guys are." She said with a big smile as she stands up

"Well I'm sorry for being a burden and thank you for your help. See you guys around!" She continued as grabs her things from the two Silfer boys and stuffs them in her bag pack and this time making sure it's zipped properly.

The two Silfers waved good-bye to Bastion and went on their way to their dorms.

Bastion looks around and saw a small little cyan blue notebook and picks it up.

Looks like I'm in for a restless school year-- He sighed inwardly as he looks at Ashley who just bumped into a tree and fell down.

Bastion jogged to her direction trying not to laugh.

"Ashley, are you ok?"

Ashley hears a couple of girls giggling as they pass by.

"Yeah—you saw, didn't you?" As she sighed

"It's hard not to."

"You can laugh if you want to. I would, and I could only imagine what I just did." She smiled brightly, Bastion smiled at Ashley, even if she could see it. Bastion grabbed her hand.

"Look, I'll help you get to the clinic and our dorm, alright? Besides that there's a ratio of 1,000 is to 1 ratio that you'll get into trouble again."

"I'm not THAT troublesome—am I?"

"Normally--maybe not--come on then."

Ashley stands up again and walked closely beside Bastion while they held hands. People started looking at them and whispering; there was the occasional stare too, they looked like they were together, even though they're not.

They finally reached their destination, the clinic. Bastion knocked on the door and slowly opened it. Ashley was shaking and her face was a bit flush.

"Is something wrong?"

"Eh?! No—no, everything's just f-fine. I'm just—um--"

Bastion waited for her to finish her sentence and watch her as she took a deep breath.

"I'm sorry."

"What for?"

"I'm a burden to you and we just met--I'll make it up to you, somehow—Misawa-san." She muttered as she put her head down

But before Bastion could reply Ms. Fontaine appeared

"Oh my, what happened?"

"She can't see because a couple of students manage to kick dirt in her eyes."

Ashley just kept quiet and let Bastion talk.

She sighed inwardly as she thought, I'm so troublesome… No wonder HE would not let me out of his sights.

FLASH BACK

A young man in his twenties with dark brown hair had opened the door to Seto Kaiba's office without even a second though matching to his table where he sat and was typing something in his laptop.

"Oi, Seto-kun you know I can't let my little sister go to Duel Academy without some reassurance!"

"Nani yo Aguilos?! I'm busy--"

"Seto! Even if we're best friend from the orphanage taking Ashley away—it's just unacceptable!"

Ashley from just a week ago had entered the room smiling as she fiddled with her long hair.

"Ni-ni, I ask Seto-sama if I could enter; besides even the smallest and cutest winged-kuribo need to fly too someday—so I thought this was a good time."

(A/N: Ni-ni is a cuter term for onichan which is big brother in Japanese just in case you don't know. P)

"Beside the fact you're sister is a great duelist—she's ehem beautiful and talented." As Seto flushed and smile weakly

"OH!! So she got you say those lines eh? That's very unlike you, Seto-kun." Aguilos putting his hand on his waist as he raised his brow at his old friend

"Ni-ni! Even if Yugi-kun and the other tell you how good I am, you still won't let me! I had no choice but to ask Mokuba and Seto-sama for help—I love dueling Ni-ni, onegai yo." Ashley stepping up to his brother for her own needs

"How you manage to make Seto-kun say THAT scripted line, is still a mystery to me. But to go through THAT much—I guess you're really serious in going-- it'll be lonesome here though." As he brush his hair from his face

Ashley ran up to the brunet and hugged him tightly.

"Arigatou Ni-ni! Arigatou Seto-sama! I'll work hard and call often, yaku soku dayo!"

Aguilos slowly puts her down when their attention was called by none other than Seto.

"Ashley, you better not forget our deal to keep it low profile."

"Hai, Seto-sama!" Ashley smiled sweetly at Seto

(A/N: Her brother sometimes calls her 'Hime' or 'princess' because she looks and gets treated as one in their household.)

"Oi, Hime-chan, don't go getting yourself into so much trouble, ok?"

"Hai!"

Seto stood up and took some things from his drawer and gave them to Ashley. Ashley looked at them and back at Seto with a confused look on her face.

"It's a customized PDA and a mobile phone; consider this as your going away present."

Ashley nodded and smiled brightly. Ganbaro ne?

END FLASHBACK

Ashley's eyes were cleaned, given their medication and wrapped in a bandage by Ms. Fontaine while Bastion watched.

"Here you go, sweetie. You just have to come here every 3 days so that we can clean and put medication in your eyes, if everything goes well you'll be able to see in about 2 to 3 weeks."

"B-but how will I duel or get around school for that matter—I can't slack off especially since I'm just starting—"

"Well, I can bring you your homework here." Bastion offered as he over hears her predicament

"B-but—I—I don't think—umm--" Ashley blushed and disagreed fanatically

I can't stay here with nothing to do, beside that point I came here to duel, and it's not like I can see my homework anyway. Then she giggles and receives awkward looks from Bastion and Ms. Fontaine.

"I'd like to continue my stay as any student would, please, please, please?"

Ms. Fontaine looked at Bastion, after all he's the only one who can answer that, since he'll be the one escorting her and helping her. Bastion nodded.

"Of course but only if you don't mind being escort by this young man here."

"Oh, I don't mind but I think if it would be bothersome for Misawa-san to escort a girl like me around campus—" Ashley blushed in embarrassment admitting she was useless for now.

"I don't really mind you mention that you're a Ra student too right? So it won't be too hard—"

Ashley smiled brightly as he heard Bastion's answer.

"Thank you SO much, Misawa-san."

Bastion bowed to Ms. Fontaine in thanks and took Ashley's hand before leading her to the Ra dorm, as Ashley was following behind him.

"Ne, Misawa-san?"

"Hmm?"

"What do you look like?"

"Huh?"

"You see, I didn't notice you earlier during that incident—and was wondering what you look like since I caught a glimpse of how Trusdale-san and Yuki-kun looked."

"Umm—I don't really know how to answer that." Bastion answered as he anime sweat drops and smiled weakly since she can see him it was fine

"Honestly, I thought Yuki-kun would definitely help me since he helped me earlier, but then again he did that without even thinking--" Ashley said with a weak and nervous laugh

Ashley walked closer to Bastion inches away from his back, she lowered her head.

"Demo ne, I'm very glad, after all that it was you who helped me." She smiled as Bastion blush without Ashley knowing

"Why is that?"

"Demo ne Misawa-san is very responsible and caring—"

Ashley bumps into Bastion's back as he suddenly stops walking.

"Ite." She whispered under her breath

I wonder how she can tell such things—it's not like we've know each other long— He look over his should and saw Ashley still had her head down and was in deep in thought.

'You remind me of my brother, you know! Gentle, caring and responsible—' is what I want to say, but—I can't.

Bastion felt Ashley's hand shaking, but he could not tell if it's because she was scared, nervous or angry.

"A-Ashley, are you always this blunt?"

"Eh? Sometimes, yeah." Ashley's went pink but Bastion didn't notice

Bastion started to walk again but stopped when he realized Ashley wasn't following him and looked at her curiously.

"What's wrong now?"

"Umm—M-Misawa-san umm—" Ashley then shook her head "Never mind."

Maybe she's trying to be open?

"Come on, we're going to be late for the opening ceremony."

Bastion and Ashley went on their way to the dorms. Bastion took Ashley to her room and fortunately Bastion's room wasn't too far from Ashley's. Bastion left Ashley to change into her uniform and went to his room to change.

ASHLEY POV

I took of my shirt and pants then changed into my 'supposed-to-be' uniform; trying to feel what the uniform was like I tried hard to imagine how it looked like as if I could see. Darn, why is it so hard to change when I can't see? And why is this skirt thing so short?!Is this even a skirt? Seto-sama!! I'm going to kill you!! PERVERT!

I took one of my black cycling shorts from my backpack and put them underneath my so-called skirt, then lazily tossing my pack to the floor before sitting on the bed feeling as though the whole world is against me.

First those baka obelisks bully me then they make me almost blind, and now the skirt in this school is too short! How the heck am I supposed to walk in this let alone duel! I groaned.

Mo—I don't feel like going to the opening ceremony with this on! I sighed in defeat and let myself fall on the bed.

Just then she heard a knock at the door that made her sit up on the bed once again.
